Beautiful day outside. Unfortunately it will be spent inside as another work week begins. At least it's still daylight when Otto and I head out after dinner.
Dinner is marinating in the refrigerator. I found a recipe in a WW cookbook for 2 mustard grilled pork tenderloin. That will be put on the grill and I have a cucumber salad marinating away as well and toss in some green beans & red peppers in a mustard vinegrette. It should be as simple as starting the grill and putting the "other white meat" on the grill. Super simple Monday night dinner.
My workout for the day was done. Between the alarm clock and Otto's whining it got me up and going this morning.
I have yet to hear from younger DD as she was traveling home from Reno. I know most of the day was to be spend traveling. I'll call her later in the day to make sure she got home OK.
Lori-hope Lucky is getting used to his surroundings and you got lots of play time in with the new pup.
My iron is beeping and need to get myself in order for the workday ahead. Hope everyone has a magnificent Monday!
After 4 1/2 hours of heavy yard work, 3 hours in the pool, and 2 hours of Zumba on Saturday, then a few hours of heavy yard work and almost 2 hours in the pool yesterday, my body is telling me it needs a break. So, I'm skipping ABS and Flexx-It today and just doing the Zumba class. I will probably stand in the back row, so I can go at a kinder, gentler pace for my knees.
It's my day to go to the nursing home, which is probably a good thing, so I'll have to sit and rest. When the weather is like this, it's really hard for me not to do yard work or be in the pool.
Erin called last night and we had a good chat. I wrote to Rob and will get that letter in the mail this morning. Need to finish getting ready for class.
Nancy, I'm sure you'll get those cookies off in no time. Maybe some of it is water weight too if there's that much of a difference so quickly.
Susan, enjoy your walk with Otto this evening. As always, your dinner sounds yummy. It's amazing how you do so much in advance too.
Hi everyone! I am still around though barely! The weekend was crazy with two days in Va for the granddaughters' Va State Gymnastics Championships. Both did well and I am very proud. Older granddaughter got 3rd on beam for the state in Level 6 12 year olds and younger granddaughter got 1st on beam for the state in Level 7 10 year olds. She placed in everything including all around. So even though it was very l-o-n-g and tiring weekend, it was successful and I got rest a little this morning.
I have been trying to walk outside as much as possible to make up for the terrible eating I have been doing. It is just so hard when not at home and especially sitting in a gym for 2 days. The only problem is a packed the wrong kind of socks and they are causing a lot of friction on my feet and boy do they burn by the last bit of the walk. Thank goodness DinL and grandson are with me to get me to finish at a good pace.
Today I will be picked up by other DinL and go to their house in Elizabeth City, NC. I am now in Moyock NC. I will be back here Wednesday night and I fly out Thursday afternoon and will arrive back in Long Island at 5:20 pm.
Nancy...The "weight" you put on because of the cookies is temporary and most likely water weight. A day or two of getting back on track will take care of it. Try not to deprive yourself totally of goodies so you won't have another weekend like that. I have to tell you, I totally understand about the scale thing and wanting to cry. It happens to me a lot too and I wish I could remember that feeling when I get out of control. I have to remember to not let it get out of control by giving myself a treat once in awhile to take care of cravings. I am sure you will have a good week this week with being back to work and all.
Lori...it was nice to read that you got the Lucky. I hope he isn't too much work for you and all are adjusting well. What a terrible thing that the poor dog was thrown from a truck.
Donna...glad you made it safely out of the laundry room. Laundry sure knows how to multiply.
Susan...hope you hear from DD. I am not looking forward to coming back to bad weather in NY. Hope it turns around there.
