The day went ok. Work was work, a few minor crisis but nothing huge. I hit my 4 o'clock wall and never quite recovered. Dinner and walking Otto sometimes rejuvenates me but not tonight.
I thought about taking an evening walk after walking Otto but allergies again have my eyes water and sniffing and sneezing.
The dinner experiment wasn't so great. You win a few and lose a few and this one was on the losing side.
Healthy activity was limited to going up and down the stairs a few times at work and with the way my memory works quite a few times up and down the basement stairs only to forget what I went down there for, back up the stairs and as soon as I got back up the memory kicks back in.
Lunch-mixed greens with Trader Joes grilled chicken, shredded carrots and some low fat shredded mozzarella tossed w/1 Tbsp of Ken's light caeser dressing put in a WW pita pocket, glass of skim milk, fresh fruit mixture (pineapple, strawberries, red grapes & blackberries)
Mid afternoon-yogart
Dinner-baked chicken breasts, cabbage & carrot slaw (that part of dinner was good), mixed vegetables.
I am looking for a snack at the moment and contemplating a WW ice cream sandwich or Jello pudding cup with a dab of light Cool Whip on the top.
I'm going upstairs and vegging out for the rest of the evening. Hope you've all had a good day.
OK my turn to post............work was not too busy and the boss disappeared for most of the mid-afternoon. Which meant some of the extra pressure was off me. Although he knew I was not feeling well this morning and he brought me back a hot cup of tea from Dunkin. Left work at 5:15 and arrived as Peapod came into the driveway. Katie helped me put away the groceries and clear off the table. Had a house full for dinner tonight, both boys had friends so it made for a very full kitchen table, 7 of us. Dinner was just hot dogs and hambergers and the boys were easy to please. Katie emptied the dishwasher and set the table while Billy ran the BBQ outside. Boys have now scattered to do boy stuff, Katie has just finished her review of the SS test that she has on Friday and well after I finish with you ladies I think I will fix a cup of tea and go relax. I think an early night to bed will do me good since my belly ached most of the day. Thank goodness for Pamprin and I took 3 pills at once and did that at 9:30 and again around 2:30. Here is my journel for the day.........
I haven't had much to eat today. Need to figure out something for dinner. About the only exercise I got was pushing Dad's wheelchair at the VA and taking the footrests off and on, but I've had a lot recently. All of the activity may have helped speed up the problem I'm having with my eye, but it would have happened eventually anyway.
I was able to get an early appt. with the eye dr. on an emergency basis.
I'm glad it's nothing any more serious with your eye but it still sounds like you need to watch it carefully. Your family is being hit with a lot! Thinking of your mom.Your poor niece!
Can't believe Rob's graduation is almost here! I think it is so sweet that you wrote that
Thanks, Patty! I appreciate that. Erin's calls and emails have taken a weird turn lately -- kind of abrupt and brief. I'm wondering what I've done now. At least one of my children thinks I'm a good mom. I asked in an email if something is wrong and tried calling her tonight, but no answer to either. Just what I need on top of everything else.
I'd searched for ages to find a good book to teach Jackson his body parts. When it came, I got an email to let me know it had come, thanks. Nothing about if she liked it or anything.
Told her about the Tuscany resort vacation I'd booked and asked about if they had any plans for the summer so we could coordinate with them to meet Rob there. Her reply, "No plans". No interest, no enthusiasm, no details.
Included her in the email about my eye problem and she never inquired about it at all. I started not to update her, but did.
I don't know what's going on. It may be because I still have a friendly relationship with Tim, because she'd like me to totally cut ties, but she can't use emotional blackmail to try to get me to live my life according to her rules. She may be remaining civil because she needs me to baby-sit for their Vegas vacation. Mother's Day should be interesting. She already wanted us to change the restaurant, and I told her the reasons it was finalized. She said they didn't have anything she and Jackson could eat, so I sent her their menus with things highlighted in yellow I thought they'd like. Guess I wasn't supposed to do that.
