Friday evening is here and I for one am very glad of it. Now it's time to tell about your day.

It's been a rainy, cold nasty day here and it sort of sums up how the day went. No, we still won't have insurance until at least the beginning of June although neither one of us is quite willing to believe that. Apparently there is a clause in the their very antiquated contract that allows them the option of withholding benefits for 60 days for a new hire. I would hardly call someone who has been in the business for over 30 years, knows a good portion of their customers and knows most of the guys there for the same period of time a new hire. The parts/service coordinator told him that they would waive the last 30 days although neither one of us thinks he has the authority to do that-so big of him. The parts manager got wind of the situation and apparently had quite a conversation with the parts/service coordinator. It didn't get him anywhere but it was nice to have the manager go to bat for you. Dh told me when he met this guy for the first time that he didn't trust him and he was so very right. Several other people had offers from him and walked away from the job because they didn't trust him. From promising his pay scale which didn't happen that"wasn't going to be a problem to "forgetting" to mention not having benefits he's a real class act. We're wondering if the mechanics that did go over whether they're aware of the benefit issue.

I had to make a phone call to the doctor today to explain why they will be getting a denial on my claim. She was very nice and said they would certainly work out a payment arrangement for me. I've priced out my drugs-a bit horrifying to say the least but two of them are my blood pressure medications so I really can't do without those. I'll have to cancel my regular doctor appointment which would involve blood work and really hope that some form of medical will be in place by then. We have the paperwork for a COBRA but the cost is horrifying even with only core benefits.

My day was completed by a visit from "Sunshine". Just her same "sunshiny" self. Made me very glad that I don't have to see her on a daily basis anymore!

I came home to find the dumpster diving Otto had done it again. I always take the garbage out before I leave except for today. It was from one end of the house to the other and coffee grounds are particularly lovely. I found the last of the garage wedged between the wall and stove. Yes, Otto was in a bit of trouble.

So, now we'll wait and see what happens with DH's interview on Monday.

Let's see how I did today-

Breakfast-Kashi Toasted Oat cereal with skim milk, banana, whole grain toast with peanut butter, oj & coffee

Midmorning-almonds and raisins

Lunch-after spending most of my lunch hour on the phone all I had time for was a peanut butter & jelly sandwich on whole grain bread and a glass of skim milk.

Afternoon-peach yogart.

Dinner(here's where it gets ugly) 1 1/2 slices of pizza, 2 garlic knots and because pizza brings on a sugar craving-a sugar cookie with vanilla icing. Yes, it was good!

It's now time to curl up in my chair. I think my gf called when DH was on the phone (he never picks up call waiting) and then some mindless TV watching.

Hope you all have a great evening.

Susan, I sure hope your DH's interview works out, so you can get away from the jerk he's working for now.

I'd love to see pictures of your new plants. The potted combination sounds so neat. I really admired my sister's hosta plants in MD and tried to grow them down here, but no luck.

The Mayfest sounds fun. Enjoy!

Congratulations on having such terrific success with your classes! Keep up the good work, but don't overdo it.

I wouldn't feel too bad about eating on occasion
