I ended up spending a lot of time on the phone today. I'd been haunting the mailbox hoping for a letter and card from Rob. The mail was late, so that was frustrating. When it came, nothing... I was so disappointed. I had a feeling he'd either forgotten to put a stamp on or hadn't used enough postage.
I went in the pool for quite a while tihs afternoon and swam a good bit, but the phone rang while I was in the deep end and I made a bee line for it. Fortunately, I'd put it near the center of the edige of the pool instead of on the bench where I usually do, because I just barely made it before it would have gone to voice mail. It was Rob! We talked for probably an hour. He sounds great despite
It's been such a great day. A pure fun day out. DD and I headed out for a shopping trip. She bought me several new tops that I can mix and match and dress up or wear with a pair of and a pair of pants for work.
We then headed east and met up with my sister at the bridal place although by the looks of the building you would never know it was there since we all couldn't find it at first and was in the upstairs of a building which we'll just say wasn't very big-not your typical bridal shop. The girl picked out about 8 or 9 dresses that fit DD's idea of what she liked. The first dress she tried on when I saw it on the hanger I really was surprised that she liked it and I was uncertain but then she tried it on and she looked absolutely stunning in it. There's a close runner up but we think the first one is the one. She's going back with some of the bridal party on June 7th to look at bridesmaid dresses and to try the dresses on again so she can make a decision. Apparently you need to allow 8 to 10 months for the dress to arrive. I've been searching a couple of websites of lines that they carry looking for a dress for myself. There's a couple of possibilities although that first dress that I fell in love with at the other store is hard to top.
We stopped at our favorite little grocery store and picked up some things to bbq tomorrow and spent a little too much time at the bakery counter.
I did get in a good workout this morning although eating has been way off since we waited so long for lunch and then once I started eating I really haven't been able to stop.
Breakfast was scrambled eggs with whole grain toast, oj and coffee
Snack- was a yummy piece of Godiva dark chocolate.
Lunch-pulled pork sandwich on whole wheat roll with a few honey bbq chips, a piece of Godiva chocolate and a mini black & white cookie
Dinner-was some macaroni salad. Ok not such a great diet but I did have fun today!
Otto and I headed out for a walk and it had turned out to be a really nice day and it was a great evening for a walk.
I'm going to attempt to make up a shopping list for the morning and watch some TV and that about winds up the day.
All of the chicken dishes sound good. Glad the lightning didn't strike your home. Lightning scares me. We keep the AC on pretty much year-round here. We'll turn it off for some cold spells, but then it goes right back on. Some days we have the AC on during the day and the heat on at night. I guess we're just spoiled. :-)
How sweet for your DS to give you that brought tears to your eyes. I guess there is a silver lining to his dad's visit -- He appreciates you more now.
I can't tell you how glad I am to hear you had a day of pure fun! You were sure overdue with all that's been going on. Made me smile.
That's a beautiful gown. I can see how she would look stunning in it. Be sure to show us any dresses you find for you so we can give our 2 cents worth. ;-)

Better too many than none, right?
I did talk to Erin twice and things seemed to be OK. I'll find out for sure tomorrow. Thanks for your good wishes.
