Rainy, windy and a bit on the chilly side here for almost mid-May. Although the day is dreary I decided to wear one of new tops from my Mother'Day shopping spree courtesy of DD. It's a sweater type shirt with big round fabric covered buttons in a color called geranium which I would call fushia.
After reading yesterday's posts it sounds like everyone enjoyed the day yesterday. It was a nice one here. Very quiet which is a good thing. DD and I did enjoy a game of Super Scrabble. She made us some girly drinks while we were playing. I was hoping the rum would take her off her game but it didn't-she beat me once again-but I did put up a good fight!
DH is headed to his interview this morning at the local hospital. It will be interesting to see how this works. Neither one of us knows whether there's an actual job involved but I guess we'll both find out shortly. Keep him in your prayers-he really wants out of this other job.
Back to work for me. Another weekend that has passed like the blink of an eye. It was a very fun filled lazy weekend for me and of course reality has set in this morning. The washer and dryer have both been going full steam ahead. Not sure whether a walk with Otto will be a go for the after dinner hour. If not I'll try to tackle at least one task around here. I'm hoping that DH will tackle the bathroom since he can't play in the dirt today. Each week he tells me he'll do it but there's some weeks where it's just not on his to do list.
There was an early morning workout session this morning. I did something to my neck on Saturday I guess when I was using my weights. It's better this morning but I'm trying to be very gentle with it and I have to remember not to cradle the phone between my shoulder and neck-very bad habit of mine. I've already done that this morning while talking to DD on the phone.
Patty-thinking of your sister this morning and prayers are with her. Hope the rest of the time with this flock goes well. That was very sweet of Ryan to take you to dinner yesterday.
Donna-sounds like you had a very nice get together yesterday and I'm sure it was extra special after the scare with your Mom. Prayers going out to her and your family as she recuperates.
Margo-glad the storms stayed away from you. Hope there is some stress free time headed your way.
Rhonda-in spite of the letdown from Tim it does sound like you had a nice Mother's Day get together. I'm glad things are better with Erin and that Jackson sounds as cute as ever! Hope your Dad is feeling better.
C/C-Deb-hope you're feeling more like your perky self today and that you feet are feeling better.
Lori-glad you had a nice weekend on the homefront. Your garden seems to be coming along nicely. I'm not into the planting end of the garden but I do enjoy the things that come out of it!
My buzzer has sounded so better get a'moving on that laundry situation and ready myself for the work day ahead
Patty, one of your chicken houses is probably the size of my back yard! We'd have to build it on stilts over the pool. ;-) I do have a lovely empty bluebird house...
Exercise was a little weird this morning. The ABS instructor was subbing for someone else and forgot to call someone to sub for her! We all just started doing our own exercises. Must admit I worked on my hamstrings more than my ABS. They're always so tight. We did get a great Zumba workout and I was dripping wet. Normally, I like to stay for the Flexx-it class and had planned to, but I really need a shower and to wash my hair before I go to the nursing home. Some days I can get away with wiping off, but not today.
No response from Tim to my email or a text message I sent about the AC. I didn't really expect to hear from him for a while. Meanwhile, I'm not sure what to do about water coming out of the AC. Usually he fixes that.
At least the sun is out and the wind has died down. I picked up a wheelbarrow full of limbs, twigs, etc., from the front yard yesterday
