Saturday Start Up

Good Morning,

I thought I would get a post started this morning since I'm going to gone for most of the day. My two sisters and I are traveling to Connecticut to see our sister and see her DD and see if we can all get a better handle of exactly what's going on. They did an MRI yesterday and we're all hoping that the results of that will give a better perspective.

It was one of those days at work yesterday. I added on to my vacation memo since I haven't heard anything but I showed it to one of the associates in case I was sounding a bit snippy which I was. So I decided against that and when my boss made a comment and I told him I was just having a bad day and wanted to know if he could help I responded-yes could you give me an answer about my vacation week from my 5/30 memo. It was just a bad day, little annoying things, I was an emotional day and well it just came out. I'm just annoyed that I seem to be the one that never gets an answer-it happens every year. Let's see how long it takes on the next memo for the next week which I'm still trying to figure out. I did get a yes and sorry no one answered me with a deer in the headlights kind of look!

Started off the day with overflowing the coffee pot. What a mess! I'm having my breakfast and coffee and then headed out the door to my sister further east on LI to head north. Not sure whether we're taking the ferry from LI to CT but either way it's probably going to be a long day.

Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday!

Susan

Good morning Susan and the rest of you wonderful ladies. Susan thanks for getting us going today. Susan I am heading in the same direction as you but I won't be leaving until 2:00. I was up early this morning considering no alarm clock (7:30). I got my sweat pants on and went for my walk first thing. I was alone and I could not find my head phones but I did not let that stop me.........did my 1 1/2 and enjoyed the sounds of the birds and passing cars. I have the front water going on my garden, I have watered the hanging plants on the front porch, I watered the pots in front of the garage, made a batch of macaroni salad and folded a load of laundry that was in the dryer. When I log off I will head back into the kitchen to empty the dishwasher and iron those last few items that are waiting to be finished. Upstairs to make the beds and then into the bathroom to give it a good cleaning and a shower myself. I need to get gas in my Explorer and then pick up my middle sister and her kids and off we go. Our youngest (prego) sister and her husband invited us up for dinner in their condo and since we have never gotten an invite we felt it best to attend. Unfortunaly my husband is racing, and my sister Dori's husband is working. But we won't let it stop us. We will be meeting our parents up there. Our folks are going to spend the night but I want to return today so it will indeed be a long day. I am just hoping the traffic to get off LI won't be too bad, mid-day. Coming home should be a breeze. Well that is really the extent of my plans for the day. Hope this finds you all well and happy. Have a wonderful day ladies!

Susan and LI-Deb, I hope you both enjoy your day. Susan, hope you can get a handle on what's happening with your sister and move things in a positive direction. Hopefully, you'll get some good news when you're there too.

I spent a good part of the day at the nursing home yesterday and listened to the singer we like so much. I got a couple of the residents up dancing. One little lady is Hispanic and doesn't speak English but can understand some. She uses a walker, but can twist and dance a bit and I even got her doing a cha cha with me. Her face just lights up when she dances and things like that make my day. The singer had several people who are usually responseless singing along to songs they remembered. It made me misty-eyed.

Came home and did a very little around here, then decided to take a nap. I was going to finish the yard, but just ran out of gas (mine not the equipment's). I watched a little TV while I had a late dinner, then went back to bed and got up late this morning. I'd wake up, but just didn't feel like getting up.

A couple of nights ago, I watched "For the Love of a Dog", which was a sentimental B movie about a golden retreiver. I'm a sucker for those. Also, watched "Juno", which was pretty good, but not nearly as good as the critics said, IMO. I have a couple more DVD's to watch.

I'm heading outside to finish up the edging I started the other day. It's already hot and steamy.

Hello, Deb...so sorry to hear you had an asthma attack with the paint fumes! Oh I see it could have been a combination of fumes and dust. That dust is so fine that it bothers people who don't have asthma too. Glad you were ok to teach the class. Didn't realize you had asthma problems because you don't usually mention it and are so active.

Nice buy with that chandelier.

Good morning everyone! Happy Saturday! It is a lazy Saturday for me today. Just couldn't get myself going and I missed the class I wanted to take at the gym. I just don't have much ooomph and I do think I am worn down with this pain on my side that seems to be always there. I think I will just "rest up" for my trip. Also, going to Costco with both DDs and their kids will be ehough workout for me today! Just have to stay away from the samples.

Thank you for getting us started Susan. I am sure you are already on your way to Ct, so safe trip and I hope you get some answers about your sis. I wish you could get more respect at work and just a simple answer to things. Looks like your boss was surprised that you put your foot down and well, you got an answer. WTG! No more letting them take advantage of you because you are so nice.

LI DEB...enjoy your trip to Ct. I will keep my fingers crossed that you don't come across a lot of traffic. Just hate trying to get off this island and there is no way around it unless you take a ferry and that is expensive and time consuming. Good for you for getting your work out in.

RHonda....love the line about running out of gas and it not being about the equipment. You sure have been doing a lot of yard work. Please send some of that work ethnic over to me...can't get down and dirty in the garden. It is not in my genes! The singer at the home sounded like he/she was great for the "crowd". Those seniors love the songs from their "time". When

Hello, Deb...sorry Ds is sick and hope it is one of those 24 hour thingy's and will be gone today.

How nice you found a well made bedroom set and it will be delivered so quickly. I bet you are excited. Always nice to get something new and totally refresh a room. We spend so much time in our bedrooms we should have something nice.

Good luck with the pictures today. I wish I knew what I was doing with photos and digital cameras. I gave mine away because it was just "too much" for my brain!

Enjoy...
