Good morning ladies, thanks Nancy for a wonderful morning welcome. I don't know who asked you either but I am glad you did! Great words to start the morning head gears! My house is quiet and I slept in. I took some Exedrin PM last night and it knocked me out cold. I only got up 45 minutes ago. I called my husband to see where they are (on the way home, racing did not go well this weekend) and to wish him a Happy Fathers Day. I never gave it a thought to say thanks for being such a good dad to our children so as soon as I log off here I am going to call him again. Thanks for saying that!!!! Billy is actually going to head out in a minute and he mentioned looking at buying Bill a power washer for a gift. So I told him to go for it and I would chip in for the other two kids. There is talk of Katie and I heading out east to see the horse and then I need to decide what to do for this afternoon. I am thinking some steaks for the grill and I should invite my FIL but I am not sure since Bill is not around. So this afternoon we will wing it. I do hope you have a wonderful day today.
Nancy, you must have been reading our minds. Thanks!
I had a good day yesterday finishing yard work, swimming, going to the mall, and running errands. It was good at least until I had a pretty big setback with Tim that has upset me. It woke me up in the middle of the night and kept me awake for over an hour, so I have been praying a lot to turn my mind off and to focus on positive things whenever I can. I can't keep letting this get to me and determine the condition of my life.
It will be a small gathering today at the nursing home. Mom, Dad, my sister and niece from here, and I have the private dining room reserved from 1 to 4. We're each bringing our own food and I picked up a cherry pie for a change of pace from cake. I'd better get some paper plates. Thought I had some, but don't.
Rob still has his girl friend with him, so he'll be a happy camper until she has to leave this afternoon. He called late last night to tell me he got a $214. speeding ticket!! He was doing 75 in a 55 mile zone. It's really odd for him, because he's not usually a speeder. I'm the one with the heavy foot. He said it was like a speed zone and they counted 8 troopers in a few miles. Several had people pulled over. He thought he was in a 70 mph zone. Anyway, he was really po'd about it. Glad he has a full time job!
It's sunny and hot here. We managed to go without a storm yesterday, but I hear thunder already. Drat! I had a lot of large butterflies of various types and a green hummingbird yesterday. Those always brighten my day. I took a helicopter over to the little boy across the street. He's Jackson's age, so I thought he might like it too. His dad flies in Navy jets. Such a nice couple.
Tomorrow my sister gets here from MD. I'm eager for that, because she's staying with me. That means I'll need to be doing some housecleaning when I get home this afternoon. Better get a move on to get dressed or I'll be late.
Just a quick hello as we are almost out the door to go to DD's house. Already did laundry, went to church, went shopping for fruit and veggies, made tuna macaroni salad (not my choice), big green salad, rolled the plastic utensils in the napkins for the christening party, got my seats for my flights and printed my boarding pass. Whew...I am tired. Maybe that is a good thing since I will be tired later and will fall asleep early (positive thinking) and be able to get up at 2 am somewhat rested. Yeah, right!
Anyway, we will celebrate Father's Day at DD's and I am keeping my Dad in my heart all day. It is almost 18 years that he is gone and some days it hurts like it was yesterday.
Hurrah for Sunday!
