It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. The sun is shining and the birds are singing. Keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way. We had another thunderstorm roll through here last night. There were rumbles of thunder while I was walking Otto last night and then it cleared up and then about 1AM lots of rain, intense lightening that sent Otto racing for the basement.
Up and out early this morning to have my blood work done. Maybe she didn't want to be working Saturday or maybe she could use a class in needle sticking-ouch!
Otto needs to be dropped off this morning for his grooming and his overnight stay. I really hate doing this but not everyone is a dog lover and at least people can eat without a doggie face appearing ready to pounce on any unprotected food.
I have to run to the pharmacy to drop off a prescription and my run to Costco to pick up the cake and the other last minute things.
DH really doesn't have a clue. He asked me this morning if I had spoke to his sister & if she's coming. He also asked if I had invited our friends to come over. I told him no but if he would like I would ask them to cover over later for cake and coffee. He seemed to like that idea! Now I just have to round up enough chairs so everyone has a chair. My boss had offered chairs that happened to be in his wife's truck but I forget to ask her for them. Hopefully I can round up enough. My man power will be here his afternoon to help and DS even said his boss said he could leave at 2:30 so I'm hoping everything goes smoothly.
Well off to start straightening up the house and get party day underway! Hope you all have a super Saturday!
Good morning ladies.........like Susan said we have beautiful weather this morning. I did not pay attention to how warm we are expected but it looks like a perfect day for a party! I never heard those thunder storms she mentioned because we sleep with our AC units on. But I could see the drive way is still wet so that eliminates one of my chores today which was going to be moving the sprinkler around the lawn and garden beds. Bill and Billy were up super early this morning and driving to Englishtown, NJ to watch a race. The profession racers are in NJ this weekend and Bill hooked them up with tickets and admittance to the tower. Those kind of deals don't happen that often so I have no problem with them disappearing for the day even though they were gone the last 2 out of 3 weekends racing themselves. This time they are just watching. I have already washed up myself, I have the dryer on fluffing some clothes and I am enjoying my morning tea. Yesterday my house was like one of those tornados. But I must say the living room and dinning room were cleaned from top to bottom (walls, windows, baseboards, furniture, carpets) and it showed off so nice last night. Rob commented how fresh and clean everything looked. Today they still look good.........so that is a nice way to start my morning. I will heading out of here within the hour to take Katie out east to ride Daniel. I would like to be home by 1:00, shower and then I promised Katie and her friend Katie a trip to the mall. They both have extra money from babysitting and selling lemonade yesterday. Rob has a detailing job to do today and clean our shop so he will be busy. He did not want to go with Bill and Billy. He said he needed to make money this weekend, lol. Tonight at 6:00 we have a graduation party for a distant cousin son. It is Bill's family and he said he was going to try and get back around 6 to go with us but I told him to enjoy his day. Katie and I would represent the family. It is not close family. I am sure his mom with have some comment. I am hoping that when we get back from the barn and we shower I can wear my nice/summer clothes to go to the mall and then head right to the party from there. Mind you I want to wear my Chico's white jeans and I am thinking maybe coming home and doing a fast change might be better, lol. Me and white pants are an interesting combo. Well time for me to make my bed and get dressed. I sure hope everyone has a nice day today!
Susan, I'm excited about your DH's party and am eager to hear his reaction and how it goes. Have fun!
Yesterday was a good day. I've been wanting to have some trees trimmed, but thought it would be ages before I'd get it done. There was a crew in the neighborhood yesterday who did our big oak tree years ago, so I got one of them men to come give me an estimate to trim 3 big oaks and some sucker limbs from the sycamore (which Tim was supposed to do). They were so reasonable that I told them to go ahead and do it. It will be interesting to see if my neighbor behind me has anything to say about the 2 oaks in his yard being trimmed back to my fence. That should have fewer leaves drop in our pool, plus more sun for the palms, banana trees, lantanas, and double hibiscus back there! The huge oak out front had half that was a little lower than the other. Now that that is evened up, I'm hoping the grass under that part will do better and more sun for the butterfuly garden. Funny how something like that can make me so happy.
Having Cheryl here is just wonderful! What a difference that makes. No word from Rob yesterday, so I'm taking that as a good sign that he is so busy and has less need for constant moral support. I know he and Tim texted a lot yesterday. Tim and I talked on the phone a lot. He sounds better than he has despite being busy. Just got a text. He said yesterday sucked and they just got a call for a swimmer in distress and one for a paramedic on the ocean.
I ran some errands yesterday while my sisters attended a political function that is polar opposite of what I support. Got two pairs of designer shorts on sale for a total of $39.97 plus tax!!!! They are cut just the way I like them -- slim and to the top of the kneecap. One is solid black very nice material and the other is a black-and-white seersucker, very classic, that makes the black appear charcoal. I think I'll wear the seersucker ones today.
Both of my sisters and I are having brunch at Mimi's at 10 AM. We invited Mom, but she declined. Haven't been to Mimi's in ages, so I'm looking forward to some quality time with no discussion of politics. Knock on wood! We're going to the nursing home afterward, but in separate cars, because she stays so late.
I got a letter from our girl in Haiti. She's doing well. I need to get a letter to her. Made the reservations for our Hilton vacation despite not having a definite date from Tim or I'd have incurred a penalty for waiting beyond the allotted time from booking. I did it for the last weekend of July. When I told Tim he seemed fine with it. I wonder what he's up to! ;-) Need to let Rob and Erin know, so they can plan on it.
That's about it for me. Need to start getting ready. Have an enjoyable Saturday.

Good morning all!
Quick post before I head out to work.. Just a short 4 hours for me which is fine because the weather here is beautiful.

Morning everyone, it's about 60 degrees here at 830am and the sun is shining.
I felt like a proud mom last night when the gal I trained got up and did her routines one by one at Zumba.
Susan, I’m so excited for the party – tell us all about it … every single detail!
