I'm heading off to bed since I'm tired and very sleepy. It was a busy day at work today but that helped make the day pass by quickly.
Otto and I headed out for a walk after dinner and with the humidity in the air I was a little surprised that Otto took the long route. We took our time and it was enjoyable.
I haven't sat outside in the evening so I headed to my favorite outside chair with my new book and enjoyed some quiet evening reading time. Before I headed inside for the evening I did manage to pull a lot of weeds from the back yard. DH loves to plant but doesn't keep up with the weeding. There's a lot more to do especially in the vegetable garden-but not tonight!
Rhonda-enjoy the time with the family and especially with Rob being home for the weekend!
Time to say good night and hope you all sleep well!
I had a mostly good day today. Instead of going to the beach club, we went to the place where I go to look for shark teeth. I looked only a short while, but found 5 small ones. The girls were impressed. They had a great time in the water and looking for shells. I'd brought a bunch of sand toys I keep for them, so they also worked on a sand castle. There was a surfing contest going on when we got there, but the waves weren't much. The beach was very crowded.
We went through a McDonald's on the drive back, and I made the mistake of getting a cheeseburger. I eat very little beef and haven't had cheese in a while either, so it wasn't too terribly long before I wasn't feeling too great. I did check out a store at the beach before I headed back inland. Couldn't find any more Irish linen blouses that were what I had in mind, but did find a really cute patriotic tee that will be great for the 4th. I even was so bold as to get short sleeves!! I would've looked more, but started feeling worse and getting very tired, so I came home. Sure enough, I was sick to my stomach.
Rob got in this afternoon. I was so happy to see him and glad he made it before the bad weather hit. We had a horrific thunderstorm with lots of rain and lightning striking very close -- thunder immediately after the lightning. It kept raining steadily until early evening even after the worst of it had passed. I tried to nap, but didn't have much luck. I made a run to a bbq place to pick up some dinners for Rob and me and a quick trip to Walgreen's. Neither of us could finish. I ate less than about 1/3 of mine and gave it to him. He's lost 5 more lbs. since boot camp and weighs only 150!!
Lauren's family had gone to another bbq place on the way (It's the South. They're everywhere! ;-) and arrived while we were still eating. The girls played in the house a while and used Rob as a playground. Even though it wasn't sunny
What do you say about work other than it was just that..... work?
