Good Morning,

Great post to start the day Nancy! Many good thoughts and things to think about.

It started off as a bright and sunny Sunday but it looks like the clouds have moved in and I think that it's just going to be one of those days where a shower may just stop by at any given time. I'm hoping the weather stays rainless for at least part of the day. I'd like to get my bike out of the shed and take it for a ride and Otto and I need a walk!

I did weight work yesterday and had pulled up a different type of bicep exercise that uses the bicep muscle in a different way from Jillian Michaels. It must have worked 'cause those muscles are singing this morning!

Off to do my grocery shopping in a few minutes. Looks like the family is in for some experiments this week. Some weeks it's the tried and true and other weeks I like to try something new. Tonight is a sundried walnut pesto over some type of pasta. Fresh picked basil from the garden! I also have blueberries in the refrigerator which need to be used so I'm going to use them today. I found a cake in Cooking Light that looks like something nice to bake.

I also found some curtains yesterday that I want to repurpose for the kitchen. I don't have any window coverings over the door or window in the kitchen and the light is great but we get full afternoon sun and I'm thinking of cutting down the curtain and make half curtains for the door and window. Of course I would have to unearth my sewing machine which is currently buried under a bowling pin (don't ask), a box of car parts (don't ask) and a computer monitor which is actually my old monitor which is going to be repurposed once DD's BF can clean up the hard drive.

There's also a Netflix movie waiting for me so I think that I'll watch that this evening. I also have my book which I'm looking forward to some reading time and also have a mani/pedi scheduled for later this morning. Looking at all of this not sure how I'm ever going to fit all of this into one day. I'm so looking forward to vacation-two more weeks!

That's about it for me. Hope everyone has a great day!

What a great way to start the day, Nancy, with such an inspiring post from you. I always felt this board was about physical, mental, and spiritual fitness. And by spiritual, it is what ever you believe in...formal religion or non conventional beliefs.
What ever fills your needs. Mental...we definitely need to be healthy there to get the best out of the rest our journey here in life by liking ourselves. And of course, the all important physical fitness for health and strength. We just have to do our personal best and it always changes with what is going on in our lives. Can we be happy with what ever our personal best is for that day? You bet!!

Yes...fake it 'til you make it!

Hope you have a great day today Nancy with whatever you decide to do. It sounds like a ride would be a good thing. Welcome to the not eating right and not formal exercising club. But, life gets in the way and we just have to adjust sometimes. No getting down on yourself...I do enough of that for the both of us. So...when we are ready to kick b*tt, we will.

Enjoy your day today without guilt! Life is too short not to!

Afternoon Everyone,

Nancy's morning post was a perfect fit for me because I've been mulling over this very topic this past week.

LOL...I think a week of experimentation will be good for all, Susan. Sometimes it is really good to get out of the rut of the same ole same ole. Nice ideas you have for your curtains. You seem ambitious today.

We will help you count down to your vacation time. Do you have any plans?

Wowzers, Margie! So sorry to hear that you are going through such a dramatic change in your life! But, WTG girl for deciding to not "taking it" anymore. Very proud of you for realizing you have to do what is good for you.

I am honored to see that you are sharing this with us. I don't know what I can do to help you through this, but know I (we) are here for you and anytime you need to talk, email or call me.

I know I wasn't around again for a couple of days but I had a couple of bad days with pain and discomfort. Boy this is getting old! Yesterday was our 40th wedding anniversary and we just sent out for Sushi because I didn't want to go out to eat at some fancy restaurant and not fully enjoy it (or worry where the bathroom is). Anyway, today is a little better but I am almost afraid to exercise since the last time I did, I really aggravated everything. Tomorrow I call the intestinal surgeon who did the colonoscopy last June to try to get an appointment.

Today will be a quiet day with kids/grandkids coming and going and I hope DH is taking up the slack with dinner. If he invited them all over to eat (they are welcome anytime) then he can do the work. He is making his famous ribs and I don't eat it so it is only fair. I also get tired as the day goes on.

I am going to try to read the last two days posts and catch up and try to be a cl here. Boy, you guys got short changed with me!
