Good Morning and a Happy 4th of July to everyone
Yes, it is a day to reflect on our nation and it's history and to give honor to our forefathers and the men and women who have and are still serving our country for the freedoms that we have.
We have a rainy morning here on LI. Wonderful for our lawn but not so great for those that were planning outdoor activities. It's not supposed to last all day but will be a threat over the next few days.
DH offered breakfast at IHOP this morning. It was a nice treat and I probably ate a day's worth of calories at one sitting and of course licked my plate clean! I'm now trying to regroup myself trying to figure out how to spend the rest of the day. My outdoor gardening thoughts are on hold due to the weather at the moment. Just not sure what I feel like doing.
Patty-hope the day goes well for you with all the stress of CL and all other things going on.
Rhonda-hope the weather in FL is beautiful for your family and neighbor get together. Enjoy the day!
Grace-hope the pain has subsided and you can enjoy your company.
Donna-your day yesterday sounded like a nice day off. Enjoy your weekend activities. DD and her BF have tickets for the Boston/Red Sox game. And DD in MA and her BF went to one of the games when they were in Boston! Just like growing up they're on opposite sides in baseball! DD has turned into a Boston fan!
Margie-glad you were able to get to the lake with your friend. Thinking of you!
Thinking of Nancy and her DH and hope they're enjoying nice weather on their ride to the Black Hills.
Shar-nice to see you in the Friday Five-we miss you around here!
Lori-hope you're enjoying your time at the homestead!
Deb/MN-a/c running nicely? Everything put back together? Before I went to sleep last night thoughts were running through my head about DD's room upstairs. My thoughts are to still keep the room as a guest room but the room is big and I want to make the other side into a sitting area for myself and then turn the downstairs room into an office. There's so much furniture in there that DD won't be taking with her and I'm trying to imagine moving the furniture to paint in there and how and where I would put furniture to put down new flooring! Oh the thoughts that go through my head that keep me awake!
Time to figure out what to do with myself. It's terrible that I have a whole day to do whatever I want and I can't figure out what to do! Maybe it should be nothing-but I have a hard time doing that!
Hope however you're spending the day it's a good one!
Susan
Today, I will celebrate our freedoms that our brave troops around the world are helping to maintain for us. I was going to go to Zumba this morning, but my hips are sore from the other night and I'm just too tired. I still don't sleep well. I have a lot to do to prepare for everyone coming here this afternoon, so that will allow more time to get those things done too.
Rob texted at 8 about how lonely he is. It's so hard being away from all friends and family, particularly on a holiday. I've been texting him all the things we have to be thankful for and how I'm trying to focus on those to heal myself and how that would help him too. In the meantime, we both agree things suck big time. LOL! I am working hard on forgiveness and that is going to take a lot of work and time. It's more for myself and the rest than the family than it is for "him". I did let his sister in PA and his 2 brothers know what's going on yesterday in emails. She asked how I was doing, so I told her. I like her a lot and feel she should know the truth. She hasn't heard from her brother in "many, many months". I was surprised to hear that.
Need to get dressed and make a run to the grocery store to make fruit salad, cut up

Happy 4th of July all...just stopping by as I reacharge my batteries before going off to work a party. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I have enough stamina because I haven't worked a big party since my heart attack. I warned the hostess that I am not as energetic as I used to be and she is alright with it.
What would I do if were not for Patty and the chickens? I think I eat chicken (breast) almost every day in one form or another. The other days are either fish or vegetarian meals.
Sorry to hear Rob is so lonely Rhonda. He really must have liked being at home. A lot of kids can't wait to "get out".
Hope there are some nice plans for you all this weekend. Even a weekend of catching up or just relaxing is good too.
Haven't eaten at IHOP...is it any good Susan? Probably a place I should stay out of. A sitting room for you sounds nice for that bedroom. Just move the furniture to the center to paint. I have a bunch of old sheet drop cloths if you need them. ;-)
Ok...better get my feet up for awhile. I have a
Be like a postage stamp. Stick to it until you get there.

Happy 4th of July to you all!
Now that I don't have to get the boys off to school in the morning, I'm hoping to be able to post more often.
It's been a busy few weeks around here.
Hi y'all and happy Independence Day!
