Good Morning Everyone,

It's a damp, humid gray day here on LI. The day is starting off much like yesterday. We had a few peaks of sun yesterday but the sun never lasted for very long. We did have some rain overnight which has brought out a new and abundunt crop of weeds in the back but gave the front lawn some much needed moisture from Mother Nature.

I spent a good portion of the day feeling very overwhelmed. I headed to the basement to try to get a handle on the mess down here. There's just certain things I'm not going to be able to do down here until DH makes up his mind that this stuff has to go and I'm really tired of trying to organize stuff that just shouldn't be here. I ended up shredding and shredding some more unfoturnately I opened a bin and found yet more stuff that needs to be shredded. I will NEVER let this stuff accumulate like this again. I have college loan stuff from both girls that needs to be gone through and figure out what needs to be saved until all the loans are paid off. I also found some paperwork dealing with DS issues in school that just made me look back and think what I should have and could have done differently that might have made a difference with this struggles. It saddens me and I know that I can't look back on something that is in the past. But it was just one of those days. On the positive side I did shred 2 huge bags of paper and the pile has shrunk. I won't look at the other stuff until the box under my desk is gone. I vaccumed down here and picked up the snippets off the floor so at least it looks cleaner. I reorganized the closet in my little "hope to be my office someday" room. I managed to sort through some stuff and toss some things. It's a daunting task around here. It requires a lot of time and mental attitude to take it on. With just weekends and so many other things that require attention it's just so easy to become overwhelmed. The other side is dealing with other other half who keeps bringing things in and not disposing of what's here. Anyway my ramblings for the morning.

I do seem to have a better attitude this morning. I'm down here and do see that I've made a bit of a difference. I overheated the shredder numerous times yesterday and if I can get to the bottom of the box today I'll be very glad. It's the typical Saturday. I'm contemplating a trip to Costco. I'm trying to make my runs there less frequent...but paper towels are running low as is laundry detergent and toilet paper...all major necessities. Milk and eggs are cheaper there so I like to get that if I'm making the trip.

Otto spent most of the day in the basement yesterday. The fireworks really bother him and whenever he appeared upstairs he was panting and shaking. I hate seeing him go up and down the stairs and I know it's not good for his legs but it was the only place where he seemed to be able to calm down.

Yesterday's eating was a disaster to the point where I didn't feel like cooking and I ended up eating a bowl of RAisin Bran which is fine but the dish of ice cream with Cool Whip I think sent me a bit over the edge of wise decisions!

But it's a new page in the book today and I've already been down here to use the treadmill and some stretching and eaten a good breakfast. I've had my coffee with my favorite ladies and I guess it's time to get moving.

I hope you all have a super Saturday!

Thanks for starting us up, Susan. I was just considering it. :-)

Yesterday was a fun day, but a busy one. I was running around like crazy getting ready for people to come here to swim, hang out, and eat. Made a run to the grocery store, got those put away, and then headed to a Dollar Store, and Walmart. I was still scrubbing the kitchen floor when Rob's girl friend and her mother arrived!! Erin was late due to Jackson napping.

Anna and her mom brought me a dozen beautiful red roses and the baby's breath to make a lovely arrangement. I had met her mom only once before, but she's very nice. She travels a LOT for her job, but wants to get together to do things when we can. When Erin, Joe, and Jackson got here we had to let him open his gifts from Granmommy (books, dvd, and helicopter and plane), then we went outside to swim. It was in the high 90's. Anna and her mom just watched, because they had a block party to go to in their neighborhood about 4:30. I'd bought enough food for them too in case we ate early, but we didn't.

Jackson, expectedly, is part fish!! You should see that child kick and get his arms going like he wants to swim. He loves being squirted and having his head under the waterfall. He laughs and shakes his head all around. Does my heart and soul good! He went down the slide on Joe's lap or Joe would hold him about halfway up and let him slide to me in the water. Jackson would laugh, clap his hands, and say Yaaaay! He liked for me to hold him and jump up and down in the water. If I did that often enough, I'd have thighs of steel!! I also did the motor boat, motor boat game and let him "ski" standing on my thighs. He

Good job on your progress in the basement! That's what I need to do with this back bedroom and the closet and 4 drawer lateral in here. It is pretty overwhelming.

Correction -- 22 lbs. lost! I had my pj's on earlier. Next stop, down into the next group of 10's!!! :-) If I stood on my head, everything would probably be positioned where it should be.
