Today turned out to be a great day!! :-) ROB GOT CERTIFIED FOR RADIO WATCH!! This was a big step. He was nervous about it because they throw all kinds of hypothetical situations at you in addition to all the book information he had to learn, so we texted a lot this morning before and after church to try to boost his confidence. He's very smart, but just needs more confidence in his abilities. He did great and is SO relieved. He said he felt as though an anvil had been dropped on his head when he got there and now it's finally been lifted off. All the guys there came and congratulated him and told him he was no longer the New Guy and was a member of the team! He said the jerk told him congratulations and that he knew he was a very
Congratulations to Rob! I'm glad you've had some positive talks with Tim and hope that you have a good meeting on Wednesday. Hope your Mom has a safe trip back.
Nancy-glad to have you back. Sounds like a nice weekend for all of you.
Margie-sounds like you had a nice day as well. Glad that you were able to enjoy your family time. Happy Birthday to your DD! Good luck getting back to the work mode tomorrow.
I had a nice day. I really felt like I needed some down time today so that's what I did. I got the grocery shopping done and then off to the nail salon. I came home and had lunch, leafed through a new magazine and a few pages in my book. I did enjoy baking the first of the season zucchini into a zucchini pineapple bread that's really good. I'll keep one loaf for the house and give the other loaf to my neighbor or bring it in to the office tomorrow. I sat outside for a long time with my book and really enjoyed that time in my chair. DH had asked me to take a walk with him to test out his new navigation thingy that we bought him for his birthday but I was baking my bread at the time. He went to take a nap so I put off going for my bike ride thinking we were going to take a walk. I saw him with the thing out front and next thing I knew he disappeared. Apparently he forgot me! I was going to take my bike out but I didn't want to lock up the house, make Otto go inside so I cleaned up around the house a bit. DD and her BF provided dinner and her BF did the grilling. She bought a marinated flank steak that was really good and a round sausage ring that I have to say were grilled to perfection. We had macaroni salad purchased from my favorite deli and I had made a mozzarella, tomato and basil salad earlier in the day. They bought a small Cookies & Cream cake from Cold Stone creamery that was really good and it was just the right size so I don't have to worry about lots of left over ice cream cake screaming at me to eat me! I watched "Charlie Wilson's War" this evening and all in all a nice and relaxing day.
I still have a few things to do before heading to bed so better get those taken care of.
