Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes! In spite of having work because the day hasn't been declared a National Holiday I did enjoy the day and probably consumed about a million calories for the day. DD came by the office at lunch time and we walked to Grimaldis (the pizza place-originating under the Brooklyn Bridge) and we enjoyed a really nice spinach salad and a thin crust pizza with meatballs. They have home made desserts so we shared a cannoli (oh so good!) and an Italian ice cream which I can't remember the name but it vanilla and chocolate with a cherry in the middle encased in dark chocolate. The associate in the office and I share the same birthday and the office had a cake for each of us to celebrate our birthdays. Mine was a Napolean cake. DH and DS took me out to dinner at a small Italian restaurant near us that I love. DH and I shared a cold antipasto platter and DS enjoyed a bowl of minestrone soup. I had veal rollatini which was rolled with ricotta cheese and spinach in a wine sauce with portabella mushrooms and a side dish of fresh broccoli. The boys each enjoyed a piece of cake but I figured there was more than enough cake in my day so I enjoyed a decaf cappachino with a biscotti. Needless to say I'm definitely in a food coma and in great need of stretchy pants!

So great to hear you had such a wonderful day! The food sounds fabulous. I'm salivating just reading about it.
