At least I have one leg up on it anyway! I've made a commitment to get back into shape for the last few years....years! Those commitments were always so short-lived and believe me, I'm paying for it now....mostly because of how out of shape I feel, hence the low self-images I have of myself. Back up to my size 14's, not happy with that. Anyway, for the last two weeks I've been "moving more"....just pushing myself to do something at least every other day for minimum 40 minutes. So far, so good. Working on the better eating choices too. I like this board and often lurk to see what's happening. I stumbled upon a recent posting entitled something like, turnover tuesday or try it again tuesday....whatever it was it worked....thanks for the inspiration. Blessings to all from Clairey

Hi, Clairey and welcome back! So nice to see you, my friend. I am so glad you are committed to getting fit and healthy and you seem to have found the right way to do it. Slow and steady and making good choices. Yes, moving is the best way to get going. Let's make sure that other leg gets up on the wagon too! LOL!

Now go slowly so you don't hurt your back and even if you walk 10 minutes here and there when you can't get a full workout in, you will see results.

YOU CAN DO IT!

Hugs

Thanks Grace! But don't worry about me going slowly cuz that's about my only speed right now! I do feel better already, you are right.

How are you doing? Hope all is well. Clairey

Hi and thanks so much for your post. I tend to fall off the fitness wagon myself. Life is so busy and so stressful it's just hard to stick with it at times. I think your

Hi Deb. Thanks so much for your reply. Funny thing, I read your profile and found we have a few things in common...from t.v. show favorites, to the walking/biking and now also the "starting over" thing! Even getting back to the size 8's, my personal best in 2003! Anyway, yes, I agree that being healthy is a number one priority....that's my intent. My kids are still young....a 16 year old son and a 14 year old daughter...so I'm still quite focused on them....just have to learn to focus on myself long enough to see how important it is to take good care of myself....between dh, ds and dd and two doggies, sometimes I get lost in the sauce. Anyway, thanks for your encouragement. "Talk" to you soon....Clairey

How sweet your post is! Thanks so very very much for your kind words. You are right....with each passing day and each "successful" day at taking care of myself by getting healthier, I do feel a bit better. I try ever so hard not to focus on how big I am at present because if I did I don't think I'd have any hope of getting smaller, every. But I'm optimistic, hopeful and with God's help I know I have a

Hi Nancy....that sentence speaks volumes. "The important thing is to keep trying"....very true. I really had to come to the point that I was so uncomfortable and truly not even recognizing parts of my body as mine....i.e. my flabby "old lady" arms and my legs full of cellulite to name a couple....but I've arrived at that point with newfound determination....glad I "delurked"....you gals are quite welcoming. Thanks again. Clairey

Good Morning Karen....at least you show some consistency with your Mondays! I keep starting over throughout the weekdays! lol. It's a tough road but I've really been thinking a lot about something someone "rudely" said to me about a month ago. I went in to a jeweler that I knew from a looooonnnnnggggg time ago to have my wedding ring resized because each time I put it on I was in a panic that I wouldn't be able to take it off since it had gotten so tight because of my weight gain. When I joked that I was getting it sized because I'm not the same size, anywhere, as the day I got married...he plainly stated, "well then, do something about it". I admit I was taken aback by his statement but I owe him for jolting me into reaizing just how much I needed to make some changes. All in all, it seems easier than it has in the past to stick to my new ways.....guess I'm ready for it....I always depend on God's help to do everything else in my life so I've "enlisted" Him for the help I need to stay focused. Another day, another chance for success. Hey, I should put that on a t-shirt! Thanks for the welcome Karen, from a former lurker Clairey in Jersey
