Patty, did you see our "youthful" picture I posted yesterday? Can you believe that was SIX years ago?? Darling picture you posted today. Couldn't help but smile when I saw it. There is something to be said for clean living.
Obviously, I did not check the weather forecast for yesterday. It turned out to be a beautiful day and "cooler" was 98 when I got in the car about 4:15. I spent much of the day in the pool, first for about an hour with Tim, some by myself, and then probably 2 hours with my neighbors and their 6 yr. old grandson. He said he'd go down the slide if I did, so I did. Fun!! He was an old pro by the time they left. I got a good bit more sun than I realized. I'd put a 45 spf on face, neck, chest, and shoulders, but didn't put any on the rest. At least I have some color now.
Tim said he'd like to ride bikes again. I don't know what's up with him. I told him I'd put some air in the tires of his bike and wash it off. I've already done mine. Told him I'm surprised he doesn't want to take it to the apt. since the slut has a bike on the porch. He said he doesn't know if she's ridden hers or not. Wants to leave his bike here... Oh, well, it's good exercise and more fun to ride with somene than alone.
We had a horrific storm last night. I'd gone to the nursing home for the going away dinner for Lisa's MIL and later that evening, the bottom dropped out. When I left the nursing home at 8:25, I had to get a big trash bag and make holes for my eyes and mouth, then covered my whole upper body so my linen blouse wouldn't get wet. Took my shoes off and made a run for it through deep puddles. It had slacked up some by the time I got home, but it was really rough coming over the 3 mile long bridge, and I still had to run through puddles on my sidewalk. Sure glad our property isn't low like so much is in FL.
I got some fried grouper (YUM!) from a place not terribly far from here and took that for my dinner. Made a quick stop at the mall and finally got 2 bras on sale and a very pretty lightweight robe as a going away gift for Edie. She really liked it. Poor woman has almost no memory. Lisa had to tell her 5 times she was going to CA and when her son would be here to get her. She still has a great sense of humor though.
Even though it's sunny out this morning, I'm sure I need to empty the huge pots out by the pool. Pool water temp is probably down again from so much water and it throws the PH balance off. It was down to 83 yesterday morning, so I turned the heater on and got it to 90. It felt wonderful! I hated to get out.
I'm thinking of going to Erin's old church. It's Baptist instead of Nazarene, but they're pretty similar. The pastor who baptized my sister and me resigned from my church, which shocked me, and it's so much farther to mine. Plus, I ran into the guy who moved here from the town where I lived in MD and was in my graduating

I must look very different this morning!
Good morning ...
Rhonda,

Good Afternoon,
I've crossed the 2 state lines and am safely back from my weekend in the lovely state of MA! I've been trying to catch up here a bit but we all know when you're away for a few days it can be tough. Donna-it was hot at DD's side of the state as well. And I hear that you hate summer? I saw a post from Kathy which was so nice-hoping all goes well with your Dad-thoughts and prayers for him. I'm sorry to hear that things aren't going well with Jeff. Sean is going to be 2 already? How time does fly. Nancy-I saw your MIL didn't have her procedure-thought and prayers are with her too. Grace-I know you're still suffering from your pain-I do hope somebody can figure out what is causing the problem. I saw that we have a couple of new posters-Hello and welcome! Deb/MN-saw that Trevor is getting ready for college. It sure is hard sometimes to see them spread their wings and fly!
It was a wonderful few days away. The trip up was a bit of a nightmare. The trip from my house over the bridge is usually 20 minutes but Thursday was 45. Several other tangles with traffic made the usual 2 1/2 hour trip more like 3 1/2 and I was very glad when I got there. DD and I visited most of Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening I went with them to their usual Thursday night dinner club hosted by friends of theirs in Agawam, MA. Their a newly married couple and just recently bought a house there. We had a very nice dinner and they have an outdoor fireplace which made me think of Deb/MN. We also have one of them but have never used it. In spite of bug torches, bug spray and citronella candles DD gotten bitten up pretty well including one on her forehead that looked like she got hit in the head by a 2 x 4. And somewhere between Thursday and last night the bugs found me and I have huge ugly bites all over my legs and feet-nasty looking and itchy! Friday AM we went grocery shopping as she was having coworkers from work over to meet me. We made a dessert for dinner and then headed over to pick up her BF and we had lunch together. We were going to go to Northhampton which is a lovely place to roam the shops and have lunch but it was just too hot so we opted to go see "Mama Mia" where it was nice and cool! We got home and got some things ready for dinner. Her friends from work were very nice and it was nice to put faces to the names when she speaks of them. Saturday we got up and headed to the outlets. It was again very hot but we enjoyed shopping in the stores and I enjoyed not paying tax on the clothes that I bought! At 8.75% here on LI-that savings on the tax plus some nice sales was a treat. I got some bermuda shorts and a tshirt in the Gap and some boxers for DS with lobsters on them just because I thought they were funny! I found some new sneakers in the Easy Spirit outlet which will replace the ones that have become uncomfortable. Some casserole dishes were found to replace my chipped ones-buy one get one free. DD and her BF had a bbq so that I could meet the rest of their friends-including the ones I met on Friday. And here it is Sunday already. I left early so that I wouldn't meet with any traffic coming down. A few traffic slowdowns but sure a better trip. I'm not sure what was up with Otto but DS came home yesterday after work and found that Otto had had several accidents in the house. I know no one had walked him for several days and DS couldn't leave work yesterday to check on him. He had had accidents in the past just because he was feeling a bit spiteful but can't really say whether it's because he was feeling a bit neglected or whether it was another issue. I know he was very glad to see me when I walked in the door and has been following me around.
Anyway, it's nice to be home. Always a little sad to say goodbye to DD but I know she's happy up there and has a wonderful BF and a great group of friends and coworkers. Not so nice to think about the work week looming ahead but that's just the way it is!
Susan
Hi everyone!
Karen
Afternoon Ladies,
So far this day has taken twists and turns I wasn't expecting but I am hopeful it has been a positive step for me and DH regarding moving on. I feels like we are finally getting on the same page and working cooperatively to get to a place where we are both doing well.
You Were Born An Original... Don't Die A Copy
Karen,
I think you stated your answer in your inquiry post when you said you genuinely want to offer your help and that you don't want any of the women to think you are looking for gossip.

Margie, Thank you so much!
