OK you get to listen to me vent! I am so angry it aint funny! I called and left a message for pool guy, he calls Bill back with nothing but appoligies.........he does not have the money to get the kit to install the pool. He was working on a deal about getting the kit from his friend and working off the debt slowly while installing other pools for this guy but something happened and it did not work out. He also works for other companies (sub contractor) but has not installed another pool for the other company for the entire month of July, but he did have the money to pay the excavator to dig that HUGE hole in my back yard 3 weeks ago.

Big Hugs, Debbie! I just looked at the pictures and that hole is BIG! I would be upset too and worried about someone falling into it, not to mention the mosquitos! What an awful disappointment too not to be able to get your pool installed so you could enjoy it this summer. You do have a hole already dug...could it be used to throw that guy in? I hope you got all that anger and disappointment out so you don't get sick over it...a good cry is good every so often.

On the other hand, your kitchen is going to be gorgeous! Try focusing on the positive and how you will enjoy using your new kitchen. Looks like it will be done soon too! Love the granite!

Hang in there...

I hope you haven't given him too much money if you have to find a new guy. Lori does $23,000.00 sound like alot of money? He owes us that amount since he has been bringing his business trucks and his personal stuff into Bill for repairs for about 3 years. This pool was supposed to be a barter deal and he told us he would install in the fall and just cover it up. That was last October...........more repairs, no pool...........winter.........ground is too hard we will do it in the spring..........more repairs (can not tell you how many times my husband has stayed late to finish his stuff).......spring comes no pool. Middle of summer no pool, no returning phone calls, broken appointments, empty promises. Yet my Bill stays late repairs this guys truck because she needs it and can not be with out one. Another month goes by no pool until her and I mix words

I just talked with Bill and we are going to put our fence back up because the last thing we need or want is someone or something to fall into that hole. The funny part of this entire deal is that on Sunday I will be taking Katie out again so she can ride Daniel and the wife will want August's board money. Now I know the horse does not belong to her and we owe the money technically to the horse owner, Christine but ultimatly the money goes into Kims hands...........just burns a hole in my stomach. I am just so sick over this and yet if I pull Katie out of there and stop Daniel it will only cause further trouble. That is the last thing I want or need right now. Unfortunatly on the horse level Katie has not done a single show because of her bad grades last year. I stuck to my guns on that but we also have not been able to get lessons so she just free rides him 2 to 3 tims a week. Which is still good but not the same. We have not been able to hook up a meeting time for these lessons. The entire drive out to Manorville has become too much with my work hours, which was my fear when we started this 2 years ago. Now I need to look into another alternative.

The kitchen will be nice once it is done. I am trying to be really patient with it since we are doing most of the work ourselves. The end result is what keeps me from loosing my mind. The counter tops are not granite they are a product called SileStone and it is a stone but better then granite. About the same price but it never needs to be sealed, it has the antibacterial stuff baked in, it does not stain..........and all I need to use to clean it is Windex!

Wow...that whole pool, truck repair, horse, thing is very complicated. I can't believe you have been going out to Manorville for 2 years already. There has to be something closer or another activity of Katie that is easier on YOU!

I have heard of stilestone and I had originally looked into it but the "men" talked me out of it. I do like my granite and so far I haven't had to seal it or got any stains. Of course it is dark green so who would know? LOL! I usually use vinegar and water to clean it.

It will look great when it is done and you are saving so much by doing the work yourselves. Hope you get to enjoy it soon...

He knew exactly when he had that damn hole dug he was in trouble and was not going to get this pool installed within a few days like he said. He lied.....he has all along and we all knew it, but none of us wanted to clearly admitt it. The repair part is a round robin that we have seen happen to us before. Customers run up a tab, have trouble paying so instead of give us some money they avoid us, give us none and then the next time the car breaks they are embarresed so they don't come back. We still live in a small town, Main Street, local business and my Bill still gives out credit.........."oh don't have the entire amount, no problem, stop next week and pay the rest" or "no problem, just drop me off a little each week". Why can't we tell the tax man that or our parts guys??? This hole can not stay like this all winter, it can't. The patio we knew was going to get smashed when we put the pool in. The game plan was to deck over it and then do pavers around the pool in the spring time. After the ground settled. Now the back yard just is trashed completely, unsuable...........and I have no clue what to say on Sunday when I head out to their place to ride.

Deb,

I am so sorry. What a mess and words can't even express my feelings towards this guy. He knew he was in trouble, couldn't be honest, has avoided the situation and now leaves you with this mess. I would certainly at the least as Bill has spent extra hours repairing this guys truck to get his sorry a** over to your yard and help do something to rectify the situation that he has put you guys in. As for the wife asking for money from you...I would think she would be embarrassed to say the least!

I know it's hard to ignore that giant hole but your new kitchen will be great when it's done. I've lived through the do it yourself kitchen in our last house and it's not easy! Two of us trying to get an L shaped counter top in place by ourselves at about 100 degrees and it got stuck in the middle because when it was measured we didn't take into account the old walls that weren't quite true. We got it in finally but not without putting holes into the new sheetrock. It was a wonder we did any husband wife projects after that experience and why now, when we can, we bring someone else in to do this stuff!

He just told my husband he was working on another angle. Bill feels it is going to get done at some point between August and September, just in time to cover it for the winter........then maybe save up so he can buy the darn filter system later on, who the heck knows. I was just in the back watering my flower boxes and it just turns my stomach thinking about it. Filling the hole is easy, he ownes a Bob Cat but that is not what we want, he had to pay someone to professionally dig this hole so I know he won't back fill it. We are just going to have live with the mess, what else can we do. We surely are not in a financial position to pay someone else to do the job, he knows we are totally at his mercy.
