Good Morning,

Weather here on LI sounds much like the weather in VA for today. Although the temperature will be much like yesterday the humidity is coming to join in and then storms supposedly coming through tonight.

Anyone still have ice cream trucks in their area? We have one truck in the area but he always comes around at the time I'm coming home from work. He's also down by the park when Otto and I take our walk. A little kid was holding ice cream the other day and he was quite enthralled with Otto. I was afraid that if he came too close Otto might be tempted to knock the kid down and escape with the ice cream :)! Did you have them as kids? We had the old fashioned Good Humor truck and a Bungalow Bar truck. I loved the Good Humor Toasted Almond bars! If one came your way today would you get something and if so what? There are days when I'm so in the mood for a big vanilla cone (the soft kind). Maybe Otto and I will have to think about that!

So what's up for your Tuesday? Work and I'm expecting a busy day. Billing still needs to get out the door. I left one project that will need to be finished up this morning and I think there are several more on the horizon. The summer used to bring a decline in activity in the office. Not as much on the court calendar, not as many clients calling but like everything it sure has changed!

Deb/MN-my sympathies on that person you were talking about. My former coworker was a self centered, got everything she wanted all the time. It's hard to deal with. I'm glad Trevor is doing well. I used to get the phone calls from school with laundry questions-I still get lots of phone calls with cooking questions from both girls!

Well time to get the show on the road. I want to get my laundry out of the dryer and the next one in. I stripped the bathroom of towels-hoping DH gets the message!

Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!

Good morning!

It's eerily quiet in the office, not that that lessens the workload.

Lori, I'm so glad for you that you followed your gut instincts about calling your former teacher and returning to the class. Sounds as though it was definitely the right thing to do.

Love your new work policies. What a morale boost those would be!

I'm sure your solo will be wonderfully creative, as will your costume. Hope there'll be some pictures. The garden sounds fantastic. Nothing like home grown veggies.

Sorry to hear about Jeff's foot. Sounds as though an X-ray may be in order. Does he have an Ace bandage to help stabilize it and ice to help with pain and swelling?

We had the Good Humor Man and Mr Sofftee when I was growing up. I loved the frozen custard. Still would if I allowed myself. We have an ice cream man around here, but not regularly. I'd probably get a Nutty Buddy or something like that if I ever bought from him.

Another hot, humid day here, probably with more thunder showers. I saw a hummingbird in the butterfly garden and the Monarch caterpillars are pigging out on the milkweed plants again. I've had some spectacular butterflies this year. My neighbors said they've had more than usual too. I like to think my garden has had something to do with that.

Yesterday was busy. Raced downtown during rush hour traffic in my Zumba clothes to drop off the last of the divorce papers. On the way back, I stopped by Tim's office to drop off a box of years of cards, love letters, souvenirs, and other mementos. He wasn't there yet, so I gave them to a woman I trust there. We chatted a while and hugged. She didn't even know we were separated, so apparently he was telling the truth when he said people there don't know. She's kind of an assistant to him, so if anyone would know, she would (other than the slut's assistant). She hugged me and said she'd keep me in her prayers, which I really appreciated. Later, I got a text saying he'd gotten the box and would keep them. He thanked me twice for sending them to him. I thought the old love letters and cards might make me feel pain, but oddly they give me comfort. He wrote the most beautiful things to me. It makes me feel that all those years were not in vain despite the outcome.

Made it to Zumba right as the warm-up song was ending. Someone commented that I'd lost weight. Two male neighbors told me they could tell and were very complimentary last week, and I've had positive comments from several of the PT staff at the nursing home. That is motivating. I ended up riding the stationary bike there for 25 minutes yesterday while Dad was doing his thing instead of just sitting.

After class, I raced home to get a shower and wash my hair. I don't know if you have Krystal hamburgers in your areas of the country, but they're famous here -- little, square, mustard, pickles, and onions on a steamed square bun. Dad always liked them, so I stopped and got him one. It's been years since he's had one. It was the perfect size for him, and he ate the whole thing! I was so pleased.

He was somewhat confused at first, but I think it was because he'd been napping. It took until 7:05 last night, but we watched "A Few Good Men", and he liked it. I kept having to put it on pause for interruptions. I was pretty tired by the time I got home last night and just took it easy. I read my devotional reading and looked up the accompanying scriptures. Erin emailed me the link for a Christian Rock station in Orlando that I can listen to on

Patty, your weather sounds pretty wild. It must be hard to run in the heat and humidity. I admire your perseverance..Thanks but I didn't last as long as I had hoped too. The humidity did me in.

You had male neighbors notice your weight loss?? Wow, that's pretty
