Weird weather we're having here. It started out so beautiful yesterday morning and by mid morning the sky turned black and the torrential rain Grace was talking about was in our area as well. They had pictures in the paper this morning of a LI beach that was covered in hail and several funnel clouds appeared in various areas of LI. Fortunately DD and I were safely surrounded by shopping! I did buy my Nano yesterday and think I'm really going to like it. Only purchase with DD was some new makeup for me.
Doctor's appointment was fine and Otto's appointment as well. He has some growths that I check on a regular basis and one on his rear paw had me a little worried but it's fine and the vet just made me aware of what changes to look for. And being the true spoiled dog that he is-he wouldn't leave the exam room until he got a treat! We got home in time for a pre-dinner walk and the intention was for me to do an after dinner workout-never did happen. I wanted to finish up my library book that's due back and then I started my new one. I watched the synchronized diving last night-how do they do that? Of course I think every dive looks great-just because I think it's amazing!
DH is off today and I think DD is picking us up and we're going to take a ride to see the church where they're going to get married and since DD has to make a payment at the reception hall we'll go by there and actually see the place. We'll probably have lunch out that way as well.
No excuses for working out today. I got up early and headed to the basement for the treadmill. I even dusted off the weights, some ab work and then some stretching made for a good workout. I do like starting off the day this way. I love the feeling a good workout leaves me with but yet I still struggle with it.
Do you use the scales to help you stay within a certain range? I do use the scale that way. I did come down from my all time high to a number that I was stuck at and since that time the number has slid down a bit but continues to remain there. It's not a bad number and as I've gotten older I think I realize that going back to number of yesteryear is probably unrealilistic for me. My attitude has changed from less of a focus on the number to one where I want to be as healthy as I can and I know eating right and exercising is a major factor in maintaining your health and helps when you do face a health situation. Getting rid of some of the fluff factor and those pesky muffin tops of me wouldn't hurt in the process. Or do you find the scales only make you feel worse? Just using it as a reference point these days. Do you get on the scale and think about the number you used to see? I know I'm never going to be the size 3 105 lb newlywed weight or the 125 lb after 3 children I used to be. With each decade comes a different weight that goes along with the decade. I think I've come to grips with my decade number!
Donna-glad to hear that your Mom has settled in. Hope somewhere, somehow your workload slows down a notch. Say Hi to Kathy!
Lori-In my brain fog I did forget to say how much I loved the pictures of the kennel and of your adorable pooches!
Nancy-great workout yesterday! You actually were my motivation and the kick in the bu** that I needed this morning!
LI-Deb-safe travels!
The rest of my mind is a blank and I'm sure that as soon as I hit post things will hit me. Thinking of you all and wishing everyone a great day!
Good morning! Loved the picture, Patty. I get on the scale every day regardless of what my weight is. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, but lately it's been good because I've been losing weight. I've decided I don't want to weigh what I weighed most of my adult life, because I think that would be too thin for me now and I wouldn't look healthy. No, that's not a rationalization, LOL, it's just that as
It is no wonder you were tired after not getting enough sleep and all you did yesterday and everyday. You are a powerhouse! I do agree we have to keep a little weight on. Our faces do look awful "skinny". I saw someone recently who lost a lot of weight and I thought she was ill with the way her face looked so thin and drawn. But she is thrilled she is a smaller size and doesn't see it. Of course I am jealous. She did it with a meal substitute protein drink. Very expensive and I can't think of the name right now but all the gyms seem to be selling it now. Boy, do I go off track or what????
Great job with the 10 lb weights. You seem to be getting stronger day after day.
I still have to get to a Zumba class. I wish I had more energy to go out at night.
Keep up the good work. Hope the scale keeps treating you right.
I finally saw the pictures you posted. That is SOME KENNEL!! Jeff is quite talented. No chain link fence for your babies. :-) Sadie is some dog too. Whew, wouldn't want to have to wrestle her into a car or anywhere else she didn't want to go! Lucky looks like a lover.
Good morning Miss P and all.

Hi, Everyone!
What a great picture, Patty! I remember that tile in the bathroom in the Bronx apartment I lived in until I was 10. Sure brought back memories.
Be like a postage stamp. Stick to it until you get there.
