It was a nice day here. Weather wise and otherwise. DD came by about 10 and picked DH and I up for a ride out east. The place they have chosen for their wedding reception is beautiful. There's a gorgeous atrium filled with fresh greenery, gorgeous orchids and a koi pond. There are tables set up in the atrium for their cocktail hour and also tables set up outside if the weather is nice. The grounds are beautiful with lovely flowers and ponds. The bridal suite is lovely as well and if it's a winter wedding stone fireplaces. The banquet hall is beautiful as well. DH was impressed and he's not easily impressed with places like this. Here's a link-the pictures really don't do it justice.

After the grand tour she took us to the church that they will be married in. Not at all what I was expecting. I was picturing an older church but the church is only a few years old. We were going to have lunch at a small place called Maureen's Kitchen but the place was really crowded and lots of people waiting so we went to Famous Daves BBQ. Great pulled chicken sandwich with a side of mashed sweet potatoes.

I've had a lazy afternoon. I have a chair in my little "room" right next to the window and it made for an enjoyable afternoon curled up with my book. I did have some overly ripe bananas and made some banana bread. I was also working on my exercise play list for my Ipod. Figured it never hurts to have some new music to perhaps motivate me!

Otto and I went for our after dinner walk. The weather has just been so beautiful! I've been back in my chair for some more reading and think I'll head back upstairs and see if there is any Olympic coverage I want to watch.

Grace-sorry to hear that this pain is still so intense. I do hope someone can figure out the cause and get you some relief.

That's about it from my neck of the woods. Hope you've all enjoyed a good day.

Susan

Flowerfields is a wonderful place to have a wedding. I have worked there numerous times and the "back of the house" is run very well too (meaning clean). My DDs had their wedding at two of the other locations of Lovin Ovens and we were so pleased. The food is fabulous...you have to go to the tasting. YUM!! Their cakes are excellent too. They own their own bakery in Sayville and the wedding cakes are made there. Younger DD went to a wedding last month there and she said the cocktail hour was wonderful in the atrium. And yes, the food is still the best! People are still talking about both DDs wedding receptions.

I live pretty close to Flowerfields too. I am glad you are all so happy with it!

I have passed Maureens Kitchen many times...never got in there to eat either.

Glad you had such a nice day.

Grace

What a day you had with MinL, Nancy. Sorry you had to make so many trips to the house. The house must be pretty nearby to do 3 trips in 2 hours. Stick to your plans next time. You can bring the stuff she needs on the next visit.

It is easy to see how exhausted you are. With all the work you had to do around the house/yard and the run around with MinL...you have every right to flag exercising today. Feel better and I hope your allergies settle down.

Susan your dd wedding is so close to me it is not funny. Old Field is beautiful, she made a great choice. Maureen's kitchen is ALWAYS crowded but the breakfast is so yummy. Explains why she packs them in! Famous Daves on 347 is the one I told you we went to for Rob's birthday last month! You will have to email me the date, time and the place of the church for I would love to see your dd walk down the isle!
