I see Miss P has some CL concerns, so I thought I'd step up and get things going today.

What's up in your neck of the woods?

Good Morning,

The weather in MA is similar to what we're having here! With the exception of the rise in the humidity on Saturday and unsettled skies we've also enjoying beautiful weather.

The bbq yesterday was very nice. Some people there from DH's days of the motorcycle business. Most of the guys still ride so they still keep more in touch but it was a group that it was easy to meld into conversation. Good food, laughs and conversation. We got there and our hostess was wearing a similar type of style catching shoe boot as mine although hers was more of a ski boot type of thing. It seems she stepped on a rope toy of their dog and slid down the back step of their house tearing the ligaments in her foot. Ouch, ouch and more ouch!

Not sure what I did to inflict more harm to my foot although tripping up the stairs could have been a culprit. but by the time I left I was definitely in lots of pain. I had DH drive home and came right in to find my foot all puffy and swollen, so an ice pack went on and an anti-inflammatory was ingested. The pain gradully lessened to a dull roar and the pills just knock me out so I slept in a bit this morning.

I've been up preparing some fixings for a bbq this evening. DD and her BF are coming by and she's bringing some spinach artichoke dip, hummus and dipping products. I have a london broil marinating and teriyaki chicken burgers for the grill, macaroni salad made, going to the garden for some tomatoes and basil for a mozzarella, tomato and basil salad and a Haawain wedding cake and dark chocolate cherry brownies for dessert along with some slices of watermelon.

I was on the phone with DD for awhile going through a link of a house that they looked at yesterday. Very cute house but she has some concerns about the back yard, ceiling height in the basement and the size of the living room space. I think her BF likes it far more than she does. As with her photography she's a perfectionist in many ways and I think it's showing up in her opinions on many of these houses. I told her they need to make a list of the pros vs the cons and sit and look at the list objectively. Meanwhile she's sending me links to condos, townhouses and small houses up her way! Retirement on Long Island seems at this point to be pretty far fetched so it does hold some possibilities in my mind-just not so sure that DH could tolerate the winters further north. He has enough issues here!

I have a huge mess in the kitchen and a laundry chute full of dirty laundry. DH was thinking of going down to the boardwalk but after yesterday I don't think I want to be doing a 4 mile walk. Plenty to keep me busy between little projects, laundry and a good book!

Donna-yummy to the lobster rolls. Your description of the place was exactly like a little place outside of Mystic that we used to stop on our trips to visit relatives in Mystic. They were so good. I haven't had one in years and you have me drooling over my keyboard! Although I didn't live in Connecticut long and have lived in NY almost my entire life I think I'm still a New Englander at heart! The best was visiting an aunt and uncle who lived right outside of Mystic. He owned a marine supply place there and they had a house right on the water. They had a boat and when company was coming we would go out right there from his house with his lobster traps and bring in the fresh lobsters and my aunt would cook them up oh so good! So yes, I'm on my way! Have a great time with the family today.

Lori-congrats on that 5 lbs gone! Patty-hope the weathers, live animals play nice this week for you. Rhonda-thinking of you. Deb/MN-how're you doing? The whole adjustment thing is very hard! Margie-hope something comes through on the house. Karen-you made me chuckle with the mispronunciation of your last name. No one ever gets our name right either-something with that vowel ending! Congrats to your son! Waving hi to everyone and hope you all have a great day!

Susan

Yumm on the lobster roll, have only had one (Kennebunkport) but the places sounded much like you described!

Praying for an end to the humidity here sometime in the near future.

Donna sounds like a really great day driving over to Cape Cod. Bill and I talked about heading up there for a few days this summer but we ran out of time and money. The lobster roll sounds delish, we have a place here on LI out east called the Lobster Roll and they serve an awsome one too. Thanks for getting us started. Your weather sounds really nice, like Susan said kind of like we are having here on LI. Temps might be just slightly cooler but we have beautiful blue skies and a light breeze. Enjoy your BBQ with your family. What are Chinese sausage and I have never heard of Ah-so BBQ sauce. What does it taste like and where do you get it?

Margie does school start back with the kids tomorrow? Back into full swing? Katie starts on Thursday, mixed feelings about her going back......high school. Aunt Flo showed up for me yesterday morning while on my road trip, fun! I wish she would just go away, I would not be hurt at all! No Brock this weekend? I read that no luck with selling house number one yet, the market is really tuff for selling. I wish you luck. I am glad to read that you booked your tickets to DC, I was afraid you might have changed your mind with all that is currently going on in your life. I so look forward to seeing you!
