Good morning. Whenever I see mums like that it reminds me of the gigantic baskets of mums the Amish were selling in MD a few years ago for only $6. a piece!!! Haven't been able to buy any anywhere else since.
A lot has been happening. I've tried to stay as busy as possible to get through this week. The divorce was final Thursday. Tim called and asked me to come by his new private office which is only about 8 miles from the house. I went to the nursing home first, but then went by to take him more photos and other things of his. He sat across the desk from me and at first just stared without blinking as though he wanted to talk, but didn't know what to say. We wound up talking about a number of things, but he's incapable right now of talking about personal things in depth. Still, it was a good conversation.
I decided to invite the man from the shag club who went to a different political event with me to go watch McCain's speech at Republican Hdqtrs. He was at a convention at the Sawgrass Marriott (gorgeous!) just down at Ponte Vedra, so I went there first and met some people he knows and watched some TV there before we went to headquarters. There were snacks and drinks and one news station was at headquarters. It was a nice time.
Friday, I went to see my therapist. Boy, was he surprised I was divorced. He didn't even know I'd filed, because I don't see him that often. That night was the dinner dance at the country club where my sister lives. I offered to give a young man from the club a ride there, because he is between jobs and trying to save money. He's the one who did the work for me and part of his payment was admission to this event. My sister came and stayed a couple hours. I was happy to see her. I got to dance a lot and wound up having a very good time. Brought the young man back to his truck at the shopping center and we wound up talking until 5:07 AM!!!! Erin thinks it's such a hoot. It is strictly a friendship, but boy, can he dance!! The older guy, however, wants a relationship, and I've made it clear I am in no way ready for that.
Patty, that pic is so pretty - reminds me of the orchard we went to for apple-picking last year - we need to remember to buy fewer pounds of apples and more tubs of plants this year.
The weather today is just beautiful - puts the rains and horrible humidity of Saturday to shame, although I was able to get some good cleaning in yesterday along with some old movie watching. Of course, all the windows and doors are open and the curtains are flying - pollen and stuff will come to rest on all the tabletops before I know it.
Love that picture and I love mums. DH planted the ones from last year and they've come back to life as far as being green just don't know whether they will bloom-we'll see.
It is a beautiful day here. Like Donna said, the rain and the very nasty humidity are gone. The skies are blue again and it's a nice late summer/early fall kind of day.
I've managed to clean the must gos out of the refrigerator this morning and run the washer/dryer for at least one load. I've tackled the grocery store and ended up with some weird kind of bread coming home with he. Someone must have left it on the end of the belt and the person behind me assumed it was mind so I'm now the proud owner of a loaf of yoga bread with cranberries and something else. It actually looks like it might make a nice breakfast bread. I guess if I paid for it I should at least try it! and headed to the nail salon for a much needed manicure. DH mentioned taking a ride to the cemetary since it would be my MIL's birthday tomorrow. I know he feels bad when I don't want to take the drive but I just am not sure that's how I want to spend my Sunday afternoon. I do have bills that have to be attended to. I should have done them yesterday but never did do them.
After getting my nails done I drove by the new pet "resort" that's around the corner from us. They have doggie day care and full facilities with TV's and the whole nine yards and they also have a doggie cab which was parked out front! I'm envisioning Otto in there with ears flying the breeze waiting to be pampered at the resort. The only thing he would be looking for is what kind of doggie treats were to be offered!
I was also wishing to knock on Lori's door in search of some homemade salsa. I made tacos last night and I was opening a jar of store bought salsa I was thinking how much better her salsa would be on top!
Rhonda-glad to hear from you and that you're keeping yourself busy. I'm sure that Jackson time is always a nice time for you.
Patty-hope you enjoy a relaxing day. Glad to hear that your sister is enjoying her new job.
Z-Deb-you exhaust me! I wish I had just a little of your energy!
Donna-my football pix at work included a win from the Pats!
Nancy-Whatever you decide to do today hope you enjoy it!
