Happiness first

As we start a new week, staring down at whatever our fitness goals are, it's worth noting that happiness could be just as critical to your health as your miles run and reps completed. I read today (http://www.webmd.com/balance/news/20080829/happiness-satisfaction-boosts-health) about a study that indicates adults who are happy are more likely to report good health, both now and in later years. According to the author, "Everything else being equal, if you are happy and satisfied with your life now, you are more likely to be healthy in the future..." I guess Bobby McFerrin was on to something!

But, for me, the takeaway is that we need to think about happiness, as well as exercise, nutrition, etc.

Have a great week!

Maybe I missed it, but I don't remember seeing anything about you and your family, where you live, interests,

Actually, I just stumbled across my blank profile this morning and thought, "Hey, I should fill that out!"

I would like to see personal interaction here like the rest of us. I don't want to have to go to another web site to find out about you. Sorry if that seems blunt, but that's our board's strong point, personal interaction and bonding.

I was referring to my iVillage profile, not my personal web site. At any rate, I didn't want to share that I don't have a family because I was afraid I wouldn't be welcome. But I couldn't really feel any less welcome than I do right now. I'll direct my contributions elsewhere in the future.

Please don't go I think some of your information is great and helpful. I think what Rhonda was just trying to say we want to get to know you. It does not matter if you have a significant other or not, it does not matter if you have children or pets, it does not matter if you live here in the US or in China, we just like to get to know you. Again you post some great things and I enjoy reading things that will help me as I get older (goodness how

Thank you, Debbie. I'm used to posting on chats about news, sports, and TV, and there's not much sharing of personal backgrounds in those formats.

Maybe we can start off with a name......either what you would like us to call you or what your mom calls you, lol and what area do you come from. I am guessing you have noticed we are from all over the place but we are really a friendly and fun loving group that share more then our goals to a healthier life style. Some of us have that healthy stuff figured out while others of us (especially myself) have not. Like I said you have provided us with some pretty good ideas and tips and I believe many of us are looking foward to more!

I certainly didn't mean to make you feel unwelcome and even apologized in advance if I had missed any posts with ongoing
