Good morning everyone. I think those of us away had withdrawals over the weekend, lol. I have a problem of not putting myself first, especially when it comes to fitness. I have been much better with my food which is good. After these last four days away I need to get back into my WW points. I ran to the meeting on Friday morning to weigh in and was happy to see another 2.2 pounds gone, I just hope I did not blow the entire 4.6 pounds lost this weekend. I have the next 4 days to make it up. Unfortunately I could not get my body up early enough to walk so I need to think of something tonight. Yesterday I got home to huge stacks of laundry and cries of I have nothing to wear. I managed 3 batches last night before I went to bed so Katie had a pair of jeans to wear and the boys now have fresh work uniforms. I could only imagine there state if I ever left for more then 4 or 5 days, OY! Although last time I did go away Bill's domestic side had started to kick in, lol. Maybe next time we need to go away for 5 days............thinking here. This morning it is chilly, I believe the weather man said 40ish? Could that be possible? I am just awaiting for my shower turn then I need to head into the office. I know my boss is away until tomorrow so the day should be fairly quiet. At least that is what I am hoping for. I have a nail appointment at 3:15 then I need to run home, change into junkie clothes and take Katie to see Ammeretto. The young lady who owns him is meeting us there and is going to let Katie jump him so I might cut out and let them do the horse thing together. It should give me about an hour to tackle something, like food for dinner. I too have nothing in the freezer but I need to make a list and plan ahead.

I am sorry to read about your FIL Lori. My thoughts and prayers are with him and your family. Jdeb sorry to hear about your friend and her family's stomach virus. I have been there and done that, not pleasant. Well everyone hope you all have a good day. I hope everyone made it home safely and gets back into their routines quickly.

Good Morning,

I loved your post this morning Miss P! And it's so true. I need to make it a point to take care of myself. We get one shot at life and we need to make the most of it.

A beautiful but chilly fall day here on LI. Big dose of reality check is staring at me this morning. Good intentions of getting up early and getting a few things done but well that didn't work out. Withdrawal of not being able to share an early cup of coffee with Nancy this morning-I really enjoyed that! No one to make the bed or fluff my pillows either! And imagine I had to prepare my own breakfast!

Work is obviously on the agenda. I have 3 more vacation days but I wanted to save those so it's back to the 9 to 5. I do have to get to the grocery store for a few things. Edible food products are few and far between and from the funky smell coming from the interior it seems like something well past it's prime is inhabiting the interior. I realized last night that there are bills due and I have to attend to that this evening as well. I'm hoping I can convince DH to get Otto out for a walk since online bill paying is not his thing. I was very proud of him for getting some laundry done. A+ for effort. Execution was a bit of bachelor style but that's ok and there were no phone called involved asking me how to turn on the washer or dryer!

I spoke to younger DD. The realtor for the house that they put the bid on spoke to DD's BF's mom who is working as their broker. There hasn't been anyone else interested in the house and obviously no other offers so the broker is going to go back to the sellers and recommend that they take their offer. We'll see what happens. They apparently bought another house so it really would make sense especially the way the market is right now.

Lori, I was really sorry to hear about the situation with your FIL. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

That's about it from me. I need to get myself together and head out the door a few minutes early to avoid racing into the office at the last minute. I'm sure there is some type of pile awaiting my return. Annoying people are going to be replace by laughter by me recalling the great weekend! Just hope I don't give myself a headache from laughing too hard!

Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday-(it is Tuesday right?)

Good morning! I'm back at my sister and BIL's and "recovering" from the weekend. :-) Karen and I sat in the lobby and lower lobby chatting until her shuttle arrived at 2. My sister and BIL pulled up while the shuttle was still there, so timing was great. I semi-dozed several times sitting in the warm sun on the drive back. We stopped at a new IHOP and had an early dinner. Something was wrong in the kitchen and it took forever for food to arrrive, but when it did it was very good. I'm afraid to get anywhere near a scale after this weekend (and the week before that).

I had a great time! Several of us mentioned that we shouldn't wait so long for the next trip and that it should be somewhere further west for a change. We've discussed Chicago, San Antonio, and other places, but nothing ever came of it. Maybe next time...

I got there early and Donna arrived not long after, so we had a chance to head straight to the mall and have lunch at Nordstrom's. We were happy campers. Donna got a pair of shoes in record time. A tear of pride came to my eye... ;-) We browsed a little and got a call from Nancy that she'd arrived and was in the mall. While trying to locate each other, Donna could suddenly hear both sides of the conversation. Nancy was walking a little sideways looking at store names and we almost bumped into each other. It reminded us of when Donna and I were chatting on the phone and could see each other in Atlanta airport on our first trip. We browsed a little more, then headed back to the hotel. The mall is so convenient to the hotel, particularly once you know the shortcut. We passed Debbie, Susan, and Grace eating outside a little shop on the way back to the mall and sat and chatted with them. We had perfect weather all weekend. Lucked out again.

Margie arrived and we waited in the lobby for Karen. Hope our welcome wasn't too overwhelming for her. Even though her hair is longer, we recognized her immediately and she fit right in with our nonstop conversation. :-) I have to say Karen looks younger and slimmer than her pictures. I really like her hair longer. She is also quite funny and energetic and added a lot to the group. SO glad Nancy thought about her being able to come and that she was able to make it. I think she'll be a staple on trips now. :-) She's also a good roommate.

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Their food is good and the waiters are accommodating. We were up bright and early Saturday and back to the hotel restaurant for breakfast before we headed into Washington. We caught the Metro in front of the mall and went to the stop closest to the Botanic Gardens. We had a little hike there, but it was probably a good thing, considering our "diet" this weekend. The gardens are just magnificent and we should have some great pictures among us to share. From there we trekked to Union Station and had lunch in the food court, then browsed in some shops. Nancy found some really cute shoes in a comfort shoe store -- no small feat (pun) for someone who wears a size 5! I drooled over some shoes I can't afford at the mall near the hotel a couple of times, but all I can afford is periodic visitation. We took the Metro to near the White House and walked to the front of it so we could see it as close as possible and get some pictures. From there we walked to the Old Post Office Bldg. and I got a mammoth cone of Coconut 7 Layer Bar ice cream at Ben and Jerry's. It was supposed to be my dinner, but it didn't work out that way. We looked at the Welcome Center gift shop and earlier
