And you have a picture of one of my favorite females-Maxine! I just love her!
The day didn't turn out anything like I expected and to be honest it has left me once again feeling like I'm never going to be organized and clutter free. I just want to heave everything out and have one of those personal organizers come in and just start fresh. I'm at the point where I thought I would have DD's room painted before the first of the year. I'll be lucky if it's done before she gets married in August. What a disaster. Then I started on my closet. I once again found the 30+ year old aftershave. It's going, going, gone! Too much stuff, too little space which goes along with too much to do and too little time.
On a positive note, DD and her BF have an accepted offer and if all goes well with the inspection they will be on their way to being homeowners. Of course, that makes me a bit sad that I'm not closer to help as I know they have a lot of wallpaper removal and repainting to do. I did get in some exercise with 30 minutes on the treadmill-yes that was once again the tremor you might have felt. Both freezers have been cleaned out and purged which again reminds me to watch what I buy. My Costco run was completed and I guess you'd consider a bit of a weight workout as the cases of water are put in the cart, taken out of the cart into the trunk, back out of the trunk and into the house and then moved to the basement and then moved once again once I cleaned up the laundry room. Yes, that's another disaster, but not of my doing. Otto and I took a lovely late afternoon walk in the sunshine which was more or less mental health therapy for me. And speaking of Otto. Being oh, so careful, I was in a hurry this morning so I took the kitchen garbage and placed the bag in the bathroom and closed the door. Unfortunately when I got home and changed into my workout clothes I left both the shower doors and the bathroom door open. I came up from my workout and guess who was in the shower finishing off a piece of cake he found and licking his lips-yes his name is Otto!
I ended up making the chicken and vegetables this evening. I found that I didn't have the ingredients to make the soup I wanted and I try to stick to the practice of only one trip to the grocery store per week unless I need something like milk or bread. So that will be on the menu for another night this week.
Speaking of menus I'm now going to head upstairs and figure out what I'm going to have this week.
I will go next. Yesterday I was at my sisters house until 9:45 helping clean and decorate for the shower today. I came home and made some pasta salad and cooked up 4 pounds of shrimp. Then threw myself into bed around 11:30. This morning I was up bright and early, maybe I should say dark and early. Clock went off at 7 but the cat had me up at 6 so I figured why fight it. Fixed the shrimp platter all nice, folded some clothes that were in the dryer, grabbed a shower and then made my bed. I was going to run to Kohl's in search of a new blouse to wear today but I found a silver sweater in my cedar closet from the holidays that worked perfect with my outfit. I bought these shoes yesterday at Payless to go with a new jacket I had bought at Chicos. I wanted them to wear today and I was in a panic thinking I will never pull this off before the baby shower. But thank goodness I found the sweater. Aren't the shoes cute? I can not find the jacket
