We're having a stormy day here on LI. We had some snow showers this morning but now just rain coming down.
I've been out and about this morning which is my usual Sunday. I had some leftover pumpkin and made some pumpkin pancakes this morning. I'm not sure what I did or didn't do other than not paying attention but they just weren't as good as the first time I made them. The grocery store was empty this morning and didn't have much to pick up although that tally at the end always makes me wonder what exactly I bought. I have a nail appointment in a few minutes and then I'm coming home and putting my sweats that I found at Target on Friday for $4.66 and a sweatshirt. Rainy days = extremely comfy clothes. I think the majority of the day will be spent catching up on Mt.Laundry and maybe finishing up the housework that I didn't feel like doing yesterday. I have a book I'm reading as well so maybe some reading time in between pushing the vacuum and loads of laundry.
DD called this morning and I think she's already experiencing the downside of home ownership. The dishwasher is broken which they already knew so they purchased a new one but the delivery and installation will cost as much as the dishwasher so they're going to wait until DH and I can get up there and DH can hook it up for them, they had their washer and dryer delivered but the guy couldn't hook up the vent correctly since it wasn't hooked up properly with the correct fitting in the first place so it's duct taped in place for the time being. The refrigerator they bought will fit in height wise in one place but not the other so either the floor is slightly off or the kitchen cabinet is hung correctly-we're tending to go with the latter. She's already figuring they're going to have to do some kitchen remodeling since the kitchen is really weird. Welcome to Homeownership 101. I do think she's missing having DH close by since he is really handy with all these kinds of things.
That's pretty much the day. Hard to believe a 4 day weekend has passed so quickly!
Princess your story of visiting your dad and telling him that you just wanted to see him, made me smile, as did the getting on the road before dark... lol Parents!
Not only am I up, but I'm at my second home.
