Another gray looking day although there's no percipitation of any kind at the moment. That's supposed to be tomorrow. So in light of tomorrow's forecast and the fact that I'm off tomorrow I'm going to head out after work and finish up the odds and ends that I have left to do and that will be that. I'm waiting for the did you buy this and do this and I will gladly say no but you can if you find it necessary. I really hate going shopping after work but since I know where I have to go and what I have to get it shouldn't be too bad.
Tonight was supposed to be our office Christmas dinner but we decided to put it off the time being. My coworker couldn't go since she has to attend a function with her husband. Our senior associate's grandmother passed away so she couldn't be there. My miserable boss as of late yesterday afternoon was still in his miserable condition. Our annual Christmas luncheon where we each bring in something and do a Secret Santa exchange never materialized this year either. Oh well...
The work day is looming ahead. I'm not sure whether I want the beast to be in the office today or whether it's better he's still off in the distance being miserable. Toss of the coin on that one. In any event, I hope the workday goes by quickly since it's my Friday. I'm thinking that there won't be a workout since I'm not sure what time I'll get home. If I get home maybe a walk with Otto.
Thankful that this is a 4 day work week for me, 3 (maybe 2 1/2) next week, 3 (maybe 2 1/2) the following week. A work week schedule I could certainly get used to. Thankful for my 4 legged walking companion. Warm house, remote start for my car and my job and the fact that some days it drives me stark raving nuts I still have one when so many don't.
Off to finish up my cards and put them in the mailbox this morning and hope that the right one is in the right envelope!
This should probably be a check in post but my day is not over so if I have time I will return, lol. Thankful yesterday for Bill's help with our Christmas cards and his promise to help me finish up stuff on the weekend. Thankful the weather was clear for my drive into NYC. Thankful for the family that drives me crazy and the warm home to comforts me at night.
I posted earlier letting you all hear yet another vent from me regarding yesterday........today was a slower pace in that I slept until 7:45 then started my day. Billy's apt had not hot water last night so he came home and slept on out couch. He brought home some laundry so he had the machines twirling this early AM. Once everyone was gone and I had caught up some I grabbed my shower and got ready for my MIL. She picked me up at 10:00 and I drove into the city. The traffic on the Long Island Expressway was horrible but luckly it cleared as we got into the city. It did take me just a smidge over 2 hours to get her to the hospital. We met with the doctor and said the reason she is so uncomfortable is that she had lots of bleeding under the skin and the black areas on her are not bruises but rather blood that is drying under her skin causing the discomfort and iritation to the muscle and tissue. He said she should feel better within the next week. You can see how it just wipes her out and she is still having trouble walking. Watching and helping her scares me into knowing I need to take better care of myself. He offered more surgery but she aint having any of that now, she needs a break and I do not blame her. We headed home before the NY rush began and I had us in Susan's area by 2:30 in the afternoon. She was hungry and wanted to take us to lunch. Her niece the nurse PA who works in the NYC hospital met us there and we drove her home with us since she is spending a few days out on Long Island with her parents. We ate at Olive Garden, by Fortunoff's (this was for Susan, lol) and

Good morning!
I've been trying to keep a smile on my face and keep the spirit of the season in my heart; it's been working, too.

Karen, I've lost track of the days and didn't realize you'd be heading east so soon.

I need to stop taking it for granted that men do the Christmas decorating Miss P...but he does a much better job than me.
