Good Morning,

A gray and wintry looking day outside. The forecast yesterday was calling for some winter weather. I haven't listened as of yet to the forecast so not sure what it's supposed to be like. But it doesn't much matter since I'm home today! DD is coming over tomorrow to do some baking but I'm going to do some today. We like to make up cookie jars and give them as gifts so lots of baking going on here today. I have all my wrapping to do as well so it's going to be my sweat pants and sweatshirt and a nice relaxing day here on the homefront as long as my cookie press decides to work :)! I have been known to not use nice words in front of it as some occasions.

DH's niece sent a picture of her 5 year old who's arm is in a sling. Seems like he was spinning around making himself dizzy as kids like to do and apparently made himself dizzy enough that he fell backwards and put out is arm to break the fall. Fortunately it was a sprain and not a break but it's the saddest picture. They didn't get home from the ER until 1AM and his Christmas pagent was the next morning and he was an angel but a one armed one.

Donna hope you and Peter have safe travels for your weekend getaway and have a wonderful relaxing time. Speaking to DD this morning I know MA is supposed to have a lot of snow. Hope you miss all of that.

Well I'm going to see if my butter is softened and let the baking begin!

Good morning, got up with a head ache but that seems to be better now. Had a hot shower, made my bed, enjoyed my tea and I am almost ready to head out for a few hours. The winter weather forecast aint looking to nice as the day wears on so best to head out soon. The washer and dryer are doing their magic and I tried to organize myself with some sort of list for today. I am hoping with Bill's help we will finish the shopping over the weekend. This afternoon I will finish putting up what ever I want as last minute decorations and then organize Bill's bedroom with the rest. The rest of the house cleaning can wait till either later today or just plain wait. I need to make a grocery list and I think I might recruit Bill to help out with that too. He is a good egg and will help when asked. Well let me run and dry my hair, and throw some lipstick on. The car has already been warmed up (thank goodness for remote start) and the days is a ticking. Everyone have a wonderful day and I will pop back later and enjoy your company and posts with a mid afternoon tea.

I'm glad it brought back good memories. My old faithful cookie press broke a few years ago and I searched high and low for the exact replica. DH finally found the one a few years ago. I try all sorts of new recipes every year but the tried and true Spritz and Chocolate Crinkles are must haves and as of recent years one of Shar's recipes have made my DS's list of must have. Unfortuntely DH's favorite lemon square recipe has disappeared. I've tried other ones that were similar but never quite live up to the original.

My mom never made Christmas cookies I guess I have an inherited gene from my grandmother was was a good baker. It's just something that I really enjoy doing and I enjoyed doing it with my children as they've grown up. They're all grown now but both girls still enjoy the tradition and the men of the family well they just enjoy eating them!

I hope you're able to get back to the homestead and your well deserved vacation time!

Eric's commute should be easy...from the news coverage, looks like people are staying home.
