Posted to you ladies earlier then headed out for some shopping. Did well at Kohl's since lots of stuff was on sale and then I had a 30 % coupon off everything too. I actually saved $93.00, that made me happy! Ran to the pet store and bought my dad a gift card so he can do his tropical fish thing. Mom said he has too many sweaters he has never worn. MIL said the same thing so tomorrow I will head to the Vitamin Shoppe for a gift card for FIL. Ran to Joanne Fabrics and bought Katie a sewing box. Is that a silly gift? I loaded it with stuff like scissors, pins, sewing needs, thread.......... When I left that store the snow was coming down pretty hard to I walked over to the grocery store there and bought the making for some homemade chili and chicken soup. Pulled out of the parking lot and found my explorer doing a 360 on the service road. Thank God no one was coming and I ended up facing the wrong way. Scared the poop out of me. Pulled back in, caught my breath and hit the 4x4 button on the dash and drove home really carefully. Made the chili, and put the soup on to simmer. After I picked up Katie we did a little more decorations and I am just taking 10 minutes to read the board and will head back inside shortly. The snow/ice is still coming down so I guess the weather man was right this time. I need to put together my grocery order for the week and Christmas, normally I would go myslelf but I think I am going to do it by way of Peapod this time. I only have so many hours to give. Well if anyone else want to tell about her day. I know it is early but I needed the break! Lori safe trip home. It seems you made many of us smile today with your happy thoughts of the cookies. My mom never baked but it is something my MIL always did so I have taken on her tradition. Sometimes it is good to take a break and then rediscover them again.

Debbie, scary about the drive home. Glad you're ok. I'd love to be at your house, food sounds great!
We've had rain today. Yuck! I want some snow! I baked cookies for the SG. He

Good thing you got out of that spin ok, Deb. I was skidding myself when I was out and thank goodness for anti lock breaks and 4 wheel drive on demand.
I can't believe over 3 days have gone by and I have not gotten here. I have been babysitting and taking care of family. I did take some time for myself by going to the gym. I HAD to go! I am very sore from subbing that 1 1/2 hour sculpting class so it has been a struggle to work out. I have feeling I am going to be scarce until next year. Sorry...but I am going to be gung ho to get my act together next year. I already signed up for the iVillage challenge and Oprah's get healthy plan.
Hoping to catch up with the posts this weekend, but we are going to finally put up the tree and decorate. Nothing like waiting for the last minute. We still don't know what we are doing for Christmas Eve or Christmas because we are waiting to hear what DDs plans are.
Hope all is going well for all of you...

I'm taking a needed break. It's been a quiet day around here but nice. It's been snowing most of the day like Deb said and here in my part of LI we're now having some sleet and freezing rain mixed in with the snow which is making traveling the roads not so good as witnessed by Deb's 360. Glad you're OK-I did one of those in my 1967 green Dodge Dart-scared the poop out of me too way back when-unfortunately nothing for me to do but get myself in the right direction and head on home. So far DD in MA left work early and is home, older DD arrived home safely now just have to wait for DH to make it home and DS walks home from work. I was going to make a quick trip to the grocery store this morning but it had started to snow pretty heavily by the time I decided to go and figured I would be in a long line behind the people wiping out the bread, milk and eggs.
I've baked, baked and baked some more, spritz, raspberry coconut bars, angel macaroons, butterscotch oatmeal raisin cookies, Magic Cookie bars (which will probably disappear into the inner sanctum of DS room never to be seen again)and vanilla chip and cherry cookies.
I took a coffee break this afternoon and sat in the living room. I sit in there so infrequently so I decided since it was dark and gloomy today to put the tree lights on and sit in there.
After leaving a message at the doctor's office with no return phone call I figured that they had closed up early and I wouldn't have test results back but the nurse did call me on her own. Test was negative which was good news but still leaves me with an unresolved issue which the doctor more or less has told me she doesn't have an answer for. Not sure what I'm going to do. It's more of an annoying problem and not being helped by the medication so I'm going to stop taking the medication and save myself the copay and then figure out what I should do after the first of the year.
I guess I'll go upstairs and dry up and put away the washed baking stuff and sit and read until DH gets home. I think it's probably going to be a long ride home for him.

Ok..super lazy quiet day here in Gig Harbor.
We watched two movies, ate nuts, chocolate covered almonds then some healthy stuff too.
Isn't it strange that it is snowing on the east coast, the west coast and we are due to get one here in-between.
