Good Morning,
Yes, I think it's Saturday. I'm not sure the past few days have been a total blur!
We arrived home last night from our whirlwind trip to MA. We had a very late start leaving the homestead (another whole story indeed but we'll just say XY issues). But they boys got the snowblower safely secured in the bed of the pickup and away we went. Of course there were 3 stops on the shoulder of the road with the cover to the bed flying up and down in the wind. We finally had to take the other things that were in the bed into the cab of the pickup and fold up the remainder of the cover securely. Made for a rather uncomfortable 2 1/2 hour ride for me but it was better than wondering if the cover was going to go flying off the truck! We had a nice visit with DD's BF grandmother and uncle that were there for DD's appetizer lunch buffet. They have a very cute house in a very nice neighborhood. As with any home purchase they have a list of things they want to do to improve and update as time and money permit. Yesterday we left the boys to hang a light fixture in the dining room and DD and I ventured out. The biggest surprise of the visit was a trip to a bridal store that DD had found. And surprise of all surprise I found a dress that I absolutely fell in love with and they let me buy it right out of stock. It fit beautifully and will require only a minor alteration to the caplet sleeve and the hem. It's cobalt blue with just a little bling at the shoulder. I was a little worried about older DD's reaction that I found something without her. DD took a picture with her phone and sent it to her. I think she was a little upset but understood and didn't want me not to get it and then regret that I hadn't bought it. I feel so much better that I've taken care of this purchase and in the price range that I had wanted. We got back to the house and we went out for lunch, made a trip to Lowes and then back to their house. DH took a short nap and then it was back in the truck for the ride home.

I was so pleasantly surprised when I got home and was greeted by DS instructing me to take off my shoes as he had just vaccumed! The house was immaculate. I had left the house in a state of turmoil but returned to find the rug and floor vaccumed, the stove and kitchen counters scrubbed down. That kid knows how to clean and what a treat!
This morning has taken off in a turmoil. DH misplaced or lost his work keys. I had to get up and help him search to no avail. Why the keys weren't on his car or house key ring I have no idea. He's terrible with keys and him trying to keep track of one more set is just not a good idea. The one other guy at work who has keys to the parts dept. is off today so he ended up calling the parts manager and meeting up with him to get his keys. I'm assuming that they found each other and he managed to get to work on time.
Today is another running day for me. My niece is bringing my sister down from CT so we're meeting up at my sister's house here on LI. It was supposed to be a later afternoon meet up but they have to get back to CT to move my sister out of the apartement she's in so I'll be heading out later this morning. Meanwhile DD and BF are heading back down from MA for the birthday party that DH's niece is having for her younger son. He turned 5 on NYE. So from my sister's depending on the time I'll head either home to go to the party or go from my sister's house to the party. Meanwhile I have a few Christmas gifts to wrap for people that I didn't see on Christmas and I totally forgot about a birthday gift so I'll need to stop and get a gift card. I've seen so much of DD the past few weeks and probably won't see her again until the first spring thaw!
No real chance to exercising the past few days but come Monday I'll get back at it and remember the Feb. 14th date! In the meantime I'm trying to eat well and refrain from the sugary stuff that remains lurking at each corner.
Tried to read up on everyone's posts. I know LI-Deb wasn't feeling good and hope you're feeling better. I know Nancy is gearing up for 7 weeks away and talk of going out into the fresh air for walks every day which sounds so dee-light-ful! And talk of them both cleaning up their diets-which I could convince my DH of that and getting out and getting some exercise! Deb/MN's DH signed up for the gym. Margo-is cleaning gutters and decluttering. Karen is cleaning out closets and dreaming of unpacking prime rib! Patty is stair climbing with her sister. Lori-still enjoying some vacation time. Grace is coming back from North Carolina. J-Deb had glass in her food-very scary. Welcome to Tammy. And I know I've forgotten someone but waving hi to everyone.
Now I better get a move on since I've got about akazillion things to do before getting back into a motor vehicle-which quite frankly I think I'd rather have my sweat pants on and hang around the house! But I gotta do what I gotta do!
Hope everyone has a super Saturday!
Susan
