Happy Sunday to all, Im 45 years old and scheduled for a c-section this week. Im at 230 with my pregnancy and was 214 befor I had gotten pregnant. I have always been over weight the lowest weight I have seen was 187 which happened while I lived over seas for a year, but came back to the states and bloomed to 214 with in a year. Im going through a divorce along with a new baby at my age and the emotions of me and emotional eater which I have gotten pretty much under control, but also the emotional balance of my 3 children suffering because of the divorce. We need a family plan yes but after some parenting classes have learned that it's not selfless for me to care for me, in order to be strong for them so Im seeking advice and help as the way I have done this in the past is to stop eatting mainly and excersize like crazy and this has given me short term results and its all back in time. Im a smart and educated woman but because of all the stress in my life can't seem to formulate a plan. any help and or advice would be great. My goal at this point is to get to 148lbs. Im 5'7 tall. and this seems to be what the DR's have suggested. Thank You all for any imput.

Good for you! I think that is a hard lesson for women to learn; that it's ok to take

Hi..
I never had a c-section so I can't really offer any advice on that... We are a great support group and I hope you can join us... You are going through quite a lot...

Hi there and welcome to the FOF board. First off congratulation on the birth of your newest child. I hope your c/section goes well this week. I have had 3 c/sections and if this is your first you will find yourself slow moving and hurting for a little while. You are having major surgery and it is going to take your body a few weeks to feel better. I am not an expert but from past experience I will tell you to eat healthy these first few weeks as your body heals. Eat smart, a balance diet is so important for healing. Are you going to nurse this baby? If so you need to consider this if you plan on dieting after his/her birth. I suggust you speak with your doctor to get the best advise. Nursing will help you loose weight quicker because nursing helps burn more calories. But you do have to make sure you eat properly for your milk supply. In the past while nursing and dieting I followed the Weight Watchers guide for points. I wish you lots of luck all around. Please come back when you are feeling better and you get back into a regular routine.
