Good morning everyone. Good grief yesterday I completely forgot that I had a chance for one of you very lucky ladies to win a prize! I made one small change in the usual morning post. Who ever finds it first, well something special is heading your way....

Most likely no one would mind snow so much if the roads looked just like that right after it snowed or even better

Good morning ladies, I have been missing in action over here these last few days. Sorry about that! I have popped onto Facebook a few times and did a quick post of my woes............. We had a busy weekend with demo and working on the pantry/laundry area. We had hopes of getting it done in two days but it did not work out as planned. Caused me to travel to the local laundermat and throw some laundry into those yucky machines. But what else could I do, after doing everything in this house on Friday I had 5 huges piles Sunday afternoon. I took 2 1/2 baskets and filled 2 huge machines and 1 small. Got entertained while doing the laundry. Goodness I do not know how people do it every week. First off with only being down 2 days the amount was big, how can a family go all week. It was a colorful bunch there and I got to watch a Jackie Chan movie in Spanish..........lol, don't ask. However I won't have to do the laundermat thing again, or at least not any time soon. Bill worked on the area after work Monday and last night Billy gave him a hand moving the machines back into place. He bought all new hoses and fittings since the machines were out. We need to hang our shelves but we ran out of time and with our Florida trip this Friday we will finish up the following week. We need to order our bifold doors too when we get back. But it looks great and we are moving in the right direction.

Work was a nightmare on Monday. Nasty RE Broker sent me into fustration mode, made me very upset I was shaking and crying. I hate that I allow someone to control my feelings like that. I ended up getting nasty with her too and I dislike that feeling. My boss was kind and said, next time just tell him/her that they needed to speak with him then and hang up. No problem...lol. Yesterday was a bit better and I am hoping that today is even better yet. Because I am praying for good news on that one file she was complaining about.........my fingers are crossed. I will not have a boss in today, he was supposed to head out to Florida this morning to visit his daughter in Tampa and attend the SuperBowl. Not sure what time his flight was out of our local airport but I saw the first flight was canceled. I hope he does not show up in the office, lol. I have a feeling I will be alone most of the day. I plan on wearing a velour sweat suit with my thermals and boots, lol. One lady is off today and the other lady's son has a 2 hour school delay. We got snow too and it looks pretty but it is my understanding the roads are horrible right now. Not at all like that picture you posted, Patty. Katie has midterms today and they did not delay or cancel anything in our district. I laugh because we all want to stay home but Karen's area is so used to it, we only expect a total of 1 to 3 inches while they get 18 inches and don't stop for nothing. Bill drove Katie as usual but he took my Explorer and I am sure he used 4 wheel drive on the road. At least the local back ones, because nothing has been plowed or de-iced. This is supposed to change over to rain as the day continues but then freeze up later.

Well I need to grab that shower and get done. I think I will bring some homemade chicken soup to work with me this way I won't have to leave at lunch time. I plan on bringing a book with me too, this way once the answering machine comes on I can enjoy some quiet time. I hope you all have a good day today, try and stay warm and dry everyone.

Good Morning,

I have to admit I went and had to look for the one small change but I really don't think I can handle your prize selection so I'll admit that I didn't look too hard!

Men continue to mystify me. First I heard younger DD's adventure of toaster shopping with the bf. I really couldn't comprehend the decision he was trying to make over a $20 pop up toaster, wasn't sure about that brand, stainless vs white. 3 stores later and DD using some rather strong potty mouth language to get him to make up his mind he finally makes a decision and they don't have the toaster. They are still toasterless! The XY that lives here apparently as soon as I walked in the door last night completely exhausted and I will say slightly short of patience was met with I don't know what kind of macaroni to cook. My response I don't care just pick one. He actually made me look at one to decide if I thought it was the right one to serve with sauce-not dealing with rocket science here. I was also told that housework isn't his forte...is it anyone's? Apparently what he did yesterday wore him out! We then had Otto throwing up last night and that was due to the fact that he ingested peanuts yesterday. The XY puts them out for the birds and squirrels but I keep telling him not to put them where Otto can get them because we've had that problem before. Well not sure where he put them or where the birds dropped them but Otto's cast iron gut didn't work so well at 3AM! Numerous horror stories of XY's were being shared with the married associates at work yesterday as well...so back to why are boys stupid?

Anyway, it is a winter wonderland out there although they're saying that it will turn ove to rain by noon which is much improved over the freezing rain/sleet that they had been predicting. After the 3AM Otto incident it was difficult to get back to sleep and then I ended up oversleeping. I haven't really accomplished what I wanted to do pre-work but then again the energy is lagging this morning. I do hope to have another good eating day and to get in some form of exercise. I was really struggling last night although according to the Wii Fit I've joined Patty at 39! I don't always like the age they give me but yesterday was a better day for that!

Margo-congratulations on the promotion at work!

Nancy-you're doing so well with your exercise and food while being away.

Grace-that's nice that you're going to see your sister. I'm sure she'll appreciate the moral support.

Li-Deb-how's the washer/dryer situation?

Karen-find those bathing trunks in the Artic freeze?

Donna-how's the weather up north? I know DD said they were expecting snow at her side of the state and they were gearing up their new snowblower. She's lucky that if the weather is bad that she can work from home.

Time to get going so I can allow myself extra time to get to work. Take care on those nasty roads & sidewalks if you're having the bad weather. Stay safe & warm!

Susan I need to head upstairs and finish getting ready for work but I really wanted you to know you made me laugh this morning. OMG the toaster just cracked me up. I can so relate! Our biggest choice now is where to put the microwave. Bill does not understand why I don't want it on the kitchen counter, well he said he does understand but does not think its worth the trouble of putting it into the pantry closet. Why not I say since we are installing new shelves anyhow. The closet is right there in the kitchen and putting it over the top of the dryer is fine. Won't interfer with anything, get it out of site and we can use it easily, lol. He is trying to decide if he should mount it on the side wall, special bracket that swings out of the way when not using it, stainless steel shelf, wood................I am going to mount something and it aint what he had in mind and I can assure you his version of mounting is different them mine at this point. Then what kind of pasta, like it makes a difference. Heck if Bill made sauce I would eat the whole wheat just so I did not have to cook it, lol. Then the housework comment, I am not sure which was more funny. His comment or your response. Thanks for the morning laugh now I am going to be late!

I have to tell you originally I wanted the microwave that mounted over the stove but because we were not changing our cabinets it became an issue.........if mounted low that we could reach it we had an open space and then if we went to high we had the issue of not reaching then add the thoughts of what if someone drops something hot and heavy onto the stove which is the glass smooth top. Good point and so we just went with the stainless exhaust fan/hood. Right now if you want to use the microwave you need to put your winter coat on since it is still sitting out in the florida room, lol. Makes me think twice about warming stuff, including my veggies. The pantry/laundry has plenty of space and just a simple shelf is all I need or want. Why does it have to become such a project? And they quickly point the finger at us woman.
