Good morning everyone. Deb, hope you and Katie enjoy the concert tonight.Has anyone heard from Margie lately? Thinking of her. Miss Kathy, thinking of you also. Lori, missing you.
Thank you Patty, yes I am feeling better this morning. The headache was gone when I woke up this morning along with all the other things that seemed to be tagging along with the headache.
We have temperatures in the 50's this morning but the winds are unbelievable. I hope the garbage men get here before I leave for work or our pail will be miles from here by the time I get home at lunch time.
A friend of mine left a message for me yesterday about a job opening in the director's office of the college where she teaches nursing. I had gone in for numerous interviews there years ago and they wanted me in the position. The only hitch was that I had to take the Civil Service test being offered which was no big deal except that even leaving an hour and half to get to this location I was stuck in horrendous traffic and by the time I got to where I needed to go there was no place to park and I missed the test. It was one of those things that I figured wasn't meant to be. Now, apparently it's back to haunt me once again. I wasn't in any mental state last night to talk about anything so I haven't returned the call yet and to be quite honest in this day and age of budget cuts and staff cut backs I think I would be a little fearful of leaving a secure job...but I am curious.
I'm off to the paying job in a few minutes. This week, for whatever reason seems to be dragging. We'll see how that wind is when contemplating a walk with Otto. The wind gusts seem to be about 50 mph right now. If we do venture out you might find Otto and I in one of your backyards depending on which way the wind is blowing. Better pack our parachutes ready. So make sure the chocolate, c*k* and a bottle of something is ready for our arrival!
Deb-hope you have a chance to unwind on your day off and that you and Katie have a great time at the concert along with Billy and his GF.
Debbie/MN-I hope you can stop stressing over the MRI. I just want to add that my DD who is a bit on the claustrophic side and was terrified of going did just fine with it and so did I.
Thankful for the nice family dinner here on Sunday as well as having DD here yesterday. It's nice to share a love of meatloaf with at least one child! Although it is a wonder that I eat meatloaf since my Mom made it every single week! Couldn't look at or even attempt making one for about the first 5 years of marriage! Thankful for direct depost-no more waiting on line at the bank! Thankful for the deli kiosk at the grocery store. Swipe my card at the little computer thing and plug in my order. Any place that cuts down waiting on a line is on my thankful list! Thankful that it's no longer completely dark when I come out of work at 5. That bit of light at the end of the day makes me so thankful that spring is out there somewhere. Thankful that whatever was ailing me yesterday has made a speedy departure. As always, thankful for family, home, my 4 legged walking partner and friends both near and far.
One of my key projects yesterday was to redo my resume and complete two applications for tests in the court system. My Bill is mailing them out for me this morning since they need to be post marked by today. The test is not until June 6th. I have nothing to loose. Working in a small town is great but I need to look at the entire picture where I am. I do not have health insurance benefits, we pay for our privately and Bill figured they run him close to $14,000 a year. With these civil service jobs it is full health insurance and dental. Then you get the retirment too, something I don't have at my place. Then lets add the salary.......two positions, first one starting pay is $26,500 and the other is $33,000. Right now I am making $13.00 an hour..........Susan I say go to the test, you have nothing to loose.
