Gray and gloomy looking outside with a few white flakes coming down from the sky. The first day of March and certainly not looking forward to anything more than those few flakes. Not in the mood for any of the "s" word.
Younger DD was taking off early this morning for Las Vegas for a trade show for work. Hope all went well with her flight. She had a connection to make in GA so hoping all will go well with that as well.
Slowly getting my act together this morning. I slept until 7:30 this morning-a very unusual event for me. I sat sipping my morning cup of coffee looking out the window. I have a hard time sitting still without thinking that I should be doing something. The coffee was good and the quiet of the early morning house was very peaceful. I'm putting together my menus and grocery list for the week and will head out shortly. A manicure will also be on the agenda. I have bills to pay and want to clean up my desk area and make sure all the bills are on my Quicken for payment and make sure that everything is up to date. I'm making squash ravioli for dinner using wonton wrappers. It will be interesting to see how that turns out. I would like to get a workout in as well. I did get one in yesterday afternoon and have to say my arms are feeling it this morning.
Karen-hope you're feeling better. Sounds like a very nasty bout of the crud you have going on. Hope you went back to bed and got some rest.
Donna-I'm assuming you were at work bright and early this morning? Hope things go well with your project.
Li-Deb-glad things went well with Katie and the tutor. Hope it has a positive effect on her and her school work. Hope you're enjoying your time with your sister and the little guy.
Better get a move on and finish getting my act together. Had to get my morning hello into all of you. Hope you all enjoy a splendid Sunday!
Hey there everyone way after the morning now here in CT. Busy evening at my sisters place. Katie and I got here just around 5:30. My sister was a little frazzled with laundry, and mess. Since she was down on LI Tuesday through Thursday then home Thursday afternoon she had to turn around and do a class on Friday so she took Liam to her SIL house in NJ. The class got out later then expected so she spent Friday night in NJ and got home here in CT mid-afternoon. Katie and I helped her clean up a bit, fold laundry and put stuff away. We order dinner out at her local pizza place.....these yummy salads made is a bread bowl with greek dressing, OMG! We were hoping to get to bed early since today was her first day back doing a 12 hour shift but we did not get to bed until midnight. He is such a good baby and he took his last bottle around 10:45 and was down and asleep by 11:30. He slept until 7:15 this morning for me. She left at 6:30. We played a little, talked, watched Noggin (something new, lol), sang some songs then I gave him a sponge bath around 10:30 and Katie gave him a fresh bottle. He has been down in his crib sleeping since 11:15 and it is now almost 1:00. We are waiting on the weather not sure what is going to happen. If we listen to the weather people we are getting hit with a big storm and if that is the case most likely Katie and I will stay put and travel tomorrow during the day light hours, figuring the plows will have already been out and the road should be better. If it fizzles then we will head home once Sharon is in for the night. So right now we are on a wait and see basis and it is completely out of my control and not worth worring about. But better to be safe..............so I will let you know what we do later. Hope you all have a good day today.
The version of Quicken I have is really easy. It is an older version but it keeps my bills in a monthly order with reminders however far ahead I want them to be. I can input bills that are just one timers or once in a whilers so no excuse to forget anything. I come down once a week and pay those that are coming up on the calendar. And the best part is the monthly reconciliation. I'm terrible at math and trying to do it on my own was always a disaster. It's been a lifesaver for me!
I'm not sure the squash ravioli is going to be a hit here either. DH is not a huge vegetable eater and he hasn't asked what's for dinner so we'll see what happens. He is a good sport in this department since I'm always trying something new.
Glad you are feeling better Karen... Your renovation to the house sounds major... I am always thinking of how I could make my kitchen bigger and better... But I think I am stuck... Still contemplating painting the bathroom..

The first wave of little snow is here - snowing steadily, but not horribly, in the city right now.
