We've reached the end of our first week of challenge and along with your evening check in, I'd like you to tell me if you made your week's challenge goals.

This is probably pretty early to report about our day and tell about our food intake but we'll be heading out again shortly and I wanted to get this going before we do.

Today for breakfast, I made myself a slice of french toast for breakfast with a tsp of sugar and cinnamon, with a cup of tea while I read the paper.

Lunch was a grilled ham and cheese sandwich - should have done ham and cheese on toast instead to keep the fat content down, but I was cold and needed some comfort food.

I made chicken stew for dinner, and am enjoying that while checking in.

I just joined, but coincidentally, one of the few things I do right is drink a lot of water, so I unknowingly met the "mini-challenge" except it was no challenge for me.

I drink a liter (33.8 fl oz) of Glaceau "Smart Water" (vapor distilled water plus electrolytes) every day plus at least one glass of ordinary water with each meal. I don't drink sodas.

This is probably the only healthy thing I do effortlessly. Water just tastes good to me.

It's been a pretty good day around here. I've restocked on my fresh fruits and veggies for the week and have my meals planned out as well. My mani/pedi has left me with a pretty shade of raspberry on my piggies and my nails are their usual almost clear that will have vanished by mid week but it's just nice to have them shaped and looking nice.

DD asked me this morning if she would mind having them for dinner. I had planned on having shrimp this evening and she's not a fish person in any way shape or form. I found another option that I thought everyone would enjoy except for DS who's my anti-chicken boy (sorry Patty-I just can't convert him). I did spend a lot of time in the kitchen but I really do enjoy cooking although more so when I'm not rushing in from the 9 to 5. I did make sure I got some reading time and balanced my check book the first time around (love that) got the checkbook and computer checkbook in synch and did some shredding until the shredder reached it's overheat point. Filing is still not done but it's not going anywhere that's for sure. DD and her BF left while ago, DH did the dishes, I finished up the rest of the kitchen, I'm showered up and getting myself mentally for the beginning of the work week.

I did get in my 32 oz of water today. Sundays are sometimes a struggle with that since I just forget.

Breakfast-Raisin Bran w/banana, whole wheat toast w/peanut butter & blueberry preserves, oj and coffee

Lunch=tuna on ww sandwich thin, 6 tortilla chips w/salsa, skim milk

Dinner-1/2 baked buttermilk chicken breast, brown rice pilaf, mixed vegetables, salad, slice of homemade buttermilk bread, 1 Butterscotch bar.

Sunday is an off day for exercise.

I did get my 2 days of 30 minutes of exercise done this week actually worked out to be 4, 32+ oz of water each day for the mini challenge.

I must say that I am finishing up today and this first week of our challenge on a good and positive note. I am so proud of myself this week. This morning was pretty low key. Tiger is still not feeling well and not his perky self at all. He slept in Katie's room last night and that is where he is now. No more throw up so that is good. The vet is going to call with the results of his blood work tomorrow.

I had an awesome week and I'm so glad that we started this challenge because I had to push myself to achieve my goals.
