The vet called me and his lab worked showed an elivated count on his white blood cells. I need to stop by and pick up some antibiotice and a dewormer and we are going to give that a try. His stool tested fine with no signs of parasites but you can never be quiet sure so the vet wants to do the deworming medicine first. He is really not sure what the problem is and is hoping that the count is high because he has some sort of infection. If this does not work the next step would be these special x-rays that will cost around $500.00. OMG I just do not have this extra money and it will have to go on my Visa card too. I do not want him to suffer and I am worried sick about him but I can not spend hundreds and thousands on a cat...am I wrong. I am so upset with this right now. I feel bad because I am the one always complaining about him because he is such a wise guy, always into mischief, he made the mess in my dinning room. I always say let him go out, maybe he won't come back but I really never meant any of it. I feel awful.........but between the monthly horse expense, the weekly tutoring for Katie, she needs braces, the hole in my backyard......I just do not know what to do! I will leave here at 4:30 stop at the vet and then stop at the deli and buy him some turkey breast cold cuts. Any thoughts???

I don't have any wise words for you and it's a situation that I think about especially with Otto getting up there in years and what exactly I would do. Why don't you just wait and see if this round of antibiotics and other procedure does the trick and then make a decision. It's a tough situation to be in.

I agree with Susan...just take it one step at a time and see if the de wormer and antibiotics work before you worry about any more.

Go with the antibiotics and dewormer, see how that works.

Deb, you're wonderful to your animals and should never feel guilty. We all say stuff like that sometimes.

I hope the medications do the trick and Tiger feels much better soon. The expense of xrays and other tests and treatments would worry me too

Hopefully the meds will work on Tiger and everything will get sorted out.
