Thanks for the beautiful picture to start the day and thanks for the message attached to it.
It is indeed a beautiful morning here. It was beautiful yesterday as well. The temperatures are supposed to get up into the 70's today.
DH is off today and in a few minutes will be heading over to the Middle School to take his Civil Service test. Hopefully he'll do well and will head in the direction of an interview. I'm sure in this present economy there will be a lot of competition. They finally reached an agreement with a contract. It's an overall 3 year contracts with a pay cut for one year and then they will have the ability to renegotiate pay after that. Our medical and pension benefits haven't changed so that's good.
We're having our friends that live out on eastern LI come mid afternoon and have dinner with them. We haven't seen them in over a year. With DH working on Saturdays and she works on Sundays and the spouses working Monday to Friday it's been impossible to get together. I have a London Broil marinating to put on the bbq along with some garlic roasted potatoes, string beans in mustard vinigrette, cucumber salad and the green salad that I tried a few weeks ago with the mandarin oranges. I bought a box of spinach yesterday to make an artichoke and spinach dip. Unfortunately the box of spinach has disappeared! I have some other munchies planned pre dinner. I also found a Cooking Light recipe for a Chocolate Cream Pie that sounds really good.
I hope at some time to get a workout in but I do have a lot of cleaning up to do around here. Not sure when DH will get home to lend a helping hand although he usually wanders off or something else on his agenda when I'm looking for him.
Well better go compile my list of things to be done and hunt down that box of spinach. Wouldn't be surprised if I find it in my car! Hope you all have a Super Saturday!
I don't have much planned for today - a bit of puttering about the house, a load of laundry or two, and must go outside first to put some fertilizer on the lawn.
