After rain, rain and more rain yesterday the sun has finally returned and the skies are a beautiful shade of blue.
Today is a cut and color for my mop of hair. I can't wait! My hair gets so out of control and there's just no amount of blow drying or any type of product that can control it. I've been waiting a bit since I have a wedding at the beginning of July and the shower mid-July and I'll need another cut and color before the wedding so trying to space everything out.
I'm supposed to be heading out with DD this afternoon to find a pair of earrings to go with my dress for the wedding. The dress is very simple with just the crystal piece on the dress strap and just want to get a pair of earrings that will bring a little sparkle to the dress.
Yesterday was another one of those days at work and by mid afternoon I couldn't wait to get out of there. I did exercise after work and did well with my eating until the after dinner ice cream, cool whip and chocolate syrup craving hit after dinner. I'm sure I put in more calories that I burned off!
Adding to my living room decor is now an exhaust system for DS' truck. He, however, knows how much this annoys me and I'm hoping this will be out of here after he returns from work today. That of course depends of whether he can make enough room in the garage-his own personal battleground with the clutter guru. I did have to laugh and I'm sure LI-Deb will truly appreciate the hat that DS received with his order. The hat has a new Camaro on it which states "Fast Toys for Big Boys"! He proudly wore that one out to dinner with his friends last night!
DH said he's going to resume work on the ceiling this evening. DH didn't let me know how this mess is supposed to be finished up so I don't know whether I'm supposed to be making a trip to the paint store or not. Patience, patience and more patience! Something that's not my strong point at the moment.
Li-Deb-good luck with the test today! Hope the girls have a safe trip to PA.
Patty-hope work goes well in CL today.
Margo-good luck with the mowing today!
I'm off to go inspect a ceiling in the daylight! Have a super Saturday!
Hello, all! As someone said (LI DEB), miss a day or two here and it is almost impossible to catch up. I scanned the posts and I do hope you had a better day Friday Patty. Sorry you had headaches again. Donna I didn't realize DH was still job hunting. I will keep him and his search in my thoughts and prayers.
Very busy day for me today. I am almost out the door to go to the first softball game of the day at 10. The second game is at 1 pm at a different field. The games have a 2 hour limit so there will be hardly any time inbetween. We are supposed to go to a backyard engagement party at 3 so we will be late...I don't want to miss the granddaughters' last games.
Tomorrow is the sprinkle brunch for DD and Monday my birthday! Too many parties and too much food/sugar! Oh and thank you Susan and Rhonda for my birthday cards. You two are so thoughtful and good at remembering to do things like that.
I better get going. Darn, DS brought home warm N.Y. bagels for breakfast. At least he got me a whole grain one...
Be back when I can....Enjoy your weekend. I am surely going to enjoy the beautiful sunny day we have today.
Hey there ladies! Katie and Stacey left the house at 6:30 and arrived in PA around 9:30, the two of them made great time and had an easy trip. I know they were both nervous since Stacey had never driven off LI. I was up early with the girls with a tummy ache, I think it was my nerves. I left at 8:00 and was in a panic thinking Bill gave me the wrong directions and I was going to miss the test but I arrived at 8:40 and had to stand around until 9:00 before they would let anyone into the classrooms. They only had two tests going Court Office Assistant and Senior Court Office Assistant. I think most were there for the regular Office Assistant test. There were close to 75 people there. They gave you 3 1/2 hours to take the tests and I used 3 hours and 15 minutes. It was time consuming and difficult. I had to do some thinking. I think I did pretty good on it except for the math part when they asked about %. I do not know or remember how to do % without a calculator. Took a ride to the mall after the test and treated myself to a new pair of white Chico jeans and a pretty lightweight jacket. Hit the old McDonalds for a diet coke and a snack wrap and well here I am. Brought the mail in, let Einstein out and dragged the garden hose in. The landscapers are here right now cutting the grass and after they leave I am going to throw myself across the couch and grab a short nap. My inlaws invited me to dinner but I am going to head to the diner with my middle sister instead. She is going to feed her kids and husband and then we will probley get together around 8ish. I think we will come back here and have some wine and watch some TV. We have sun shine for a change and I have all my windows open enjoying it. Poor Einstein is afraid of the mowers and blowers from the landscaper so I better go comfort him. Hope you all are having a good day and I will check back later after my sister leaves!
