Can't believe it's Thursday already. Time sure flies when you're not doing the 9 to 5 every day!
I'm hoping that the sun that had made an appearance this morning will be sticking around for the day but the skies have turned gray already. It was humid yesterday and what would be a day without rain being involved in the daily forecast.
The painting is done. The walls could use a 3rd coat but I was out of paint and patience by yesterday afternoon. There will be no more lets see how it goes without priming. Like Margo said-primer will be my best friend while painting over a dark color. It may not be the greatest job but it's done. By late yesterday afternoon I was seen with a bucket and nylon scrubbie scraping up paint splatters. DS helped put some furniture into the room for me last night and by midnight I had most of the furniture where I want it to be and have even figured out how to incorporate my desk and computer without overwhelming the room with furniture. It's going to be a simple clutter free room that's a bit on the orange side but it has my comfy chair for TV watching and a small chair by the window for quiet reading time. I had to give up my big book case but found a smaller one in the basement to repurpose so my favorite books and photo albums and some favorite photos will still have a home. Actually now that the furniture is in place I like the color. I was even able to incorporate the area rugs that DS had used.
Between the furniture and rug moving I didn't go to bed until after midnight and then my mind was revolving with a million other things and it must have been 2AM before I finally fell asleep.
I think I'm going to venture outside of the house today. With the exception of afternoon coffee runs and walking Otto when it wasn't raining I really haven't seen the light of day the past few days. I believe I'm going to do some textile shopping today as I call it. I want to find some bedding for the twin bed that will remain in that room and I'm going to look for some simple window treatments and curtain rods
DS is off today and I'm hoping he will lend a hand and get my TV upstairs and the other one in its place in the room down here and maybe get the full size bed out of my living room and in its new home. Maybe, just maybe DH will install the AC and I'm hoping either tonight or tomorrow he'll move the computer as well.
Household chores have taken a seat in the rear over the past few days. I didn't even unload and load the dishwasher last night. I'm hoping that before I venture out this morning and this afternoon I'll attend to some of those.
Thankful for a week off. Vacation are wonderful even if they are filled with hard work. But trying to do this on a weekend would have been impossible! Thankful for things big and small.
Susan just help me out here.............which room got new carpet last week? Which room did you paint? Where is the full size bed going? Lost count here, are you rearranging three rooms all at the same time? Enjoy what is left of your vacation and I hope you get more done on your list and get to relax a little.
Patty glad you enjoyed your day off yesterday! Gopher on steroids...........did not know my gopher traveled to Virginia from New York, lol. I know that gopher well. Very fustrating when you have to count and depend upon others to do work. That is why Bill gets fustrated and ends up doing so much himself. I hope you got your run in this morning and you don't kill the poor SG when he comes around.
Nancy enjoy your day at work today. Long ride to visit your mom, best idea of spending the night! Where do you stay while your out that way? I am glad she came through the operation alright. Can you make your coffee half regular and half decaf...........does that work? Not being a coffee drinker I don't understand, sorry.
Yes, I lost my mind and am trying to do 3 rooms at the same time although I'm sticking with the paint in the small bedroom. Phil moved across the hall to Allison's room which was painted and Phil recarpeted it. I'm moving my bigger size TV upstairs which will now be my little oasis and the small room downstairs will house the bigger bed and a TV for a small guest room.
Margie your entire post just put the biggest smile on my face. You have come such a long way in a short amount of time and you truely are an inspiration to many. You should be so proud of yourself because I am sure I speak from all of us here we are extemely proud of you! I just loved your thankful list and I am afraid mine can hardly compare but you do make me stop and think and realize how lucky I truely am. So one of my thankfuls is to you for reminding me of things! I don't think I want your warm temps of 100 but the pool sounds great.
