Hello, all. Today is our 41st weddigoing anniversary and they said it wouldn't last. We are going to stay close to home with no real plans since I am still not myself. After the graduation party yesterday, I feel like I had enough going out for this weekend and enough eating too!
I think maybe the sun is coming out. Keeping my fingers crossed. Grandkids at DDs houses have fever...I am wondering if that swine flu has hit us.
I am going to try to go over my Zumba class sometime today. I am subbing again this Tuesday. Tomorrow is a follow up appointment with the ortho doc for my knee. It feels great so I am thinking it should be the last post op visit. I may ask about my hip, but that is starting to feel better now.
I guess I should hang with the family a little.
Have a good day all...

Happy Anniversary Grace!
Good Afternoon,
Happy Anniversary Grace!
It's been a busy weekend around my end of LI. Yesterday, was cleaning, scrubbing, finding new homes for various things, and putting things back in their appropriate homes. Exhausting!
Today was the usual trip to the grocery store and then out to DD's reception site for food tasting. I'll just say if the samples of what we tasted are exactly what is served people will walk away raving about the food. We had samples of what you can have for your first and second courses and then a sampling of just some of their entrees. We tried their salad, grilled peach with marscapone cheese, shrimp over a rice dish, mushrooms rolled in a phyllo dough and again that's just a sample of what is offered to you. For main entrees we tried duck over noodles (never had duck but it had always been one of my Dad's favorites), pork chop, a filet migon which was fabulous with a white truffle mashed potatoes, Caribbean chicken, scallop and coconut shrimp served with a polenta, salmon which I have to say was the only dish no one cared for. It had a Thai spice rub which was a bit overpowering but you can get a different salmon if that's what you choose. They do a lobster crepe which I would have loved to try but that wasn't one of the offerings today. After that they had a sampling of various cakes, red velvet cake, chocolate cake with whipped cream and a white cake with a layer of chocolate mousse and a layer of strawberry (my personal favorite). They had various drink offerings of which the Peach martini was my personal favorite! The weather was picture perfect and we enjoyed the day with DD and her BF and his parents. A nice way to spend my last day of vacation.
Of course now I'm feeling really lazy and not inclined to really do much of anything. Otto and I will head out for a walk and enjoy the beautiful weather while it lasts. The past 2 days have been beautiful. Abundunt sunshine, low humidity and temperatures that are just right for this time of year.

Lovin Ovens has the best food! That is why we picked one of their other venues for both DDs weddings. I have worked for them at Flowerfields and the food is consistently good. The cocktail hour outstanding. The back of the house is very clean too. Yes..people will be raving about the food for a long while. We had the lobster crepes at younger DD's wedding. Very yummy and it was one of the last shell fish meals I had before the big allergic reaction.
Glad it worked out so well. Lovin Ovens owns their own bakery in Sayville...Audry's... and the baked goods are very good, including the wedding cakes.
You all are going to have such a blast!
