Torrential downpours, thunder and lightening were all part of yesterday's weather events. I'm hoping today the skies will clear and the sun will shine. We'll probably be leaving around 10AM to head to Rhode Island for our friends' son's wedding. I do hope the weather is nice for them. The location for the reception is supposed to be really beautiful and it's always nice when the weather is right for a wedding.
I have some laundry whirling and twirling, I have to get an overnight bag packed. DD will be staying overnight today and tomorrow as the BF had to head to a wedding in Florida. DS will be leaving tomorrow to dog sit for his boss'dog. Between the two of them they'll be around to make sure Otto is taken care of and my neighbor is always glad to step in and make sure Otto is ok. I do want to be on the road back to NY by mid morning. I have no idea what traffic will be like going or coming. Our hotel check in isn't until 3PM and the wedding is at 3. I asked if we could check in early and they put in the request but they couldn't guarantee it. I don't want to drive for 3 hours in my dress so I'll just have to hope for the best!
Nancy-sounds like some fun events for the 4th in your neck of the woods.
I'd better get going. I wanted to try to get my car washed this morning before we leave and I still have a bag to pack!
Peace and quiet is nice.. That is definately one thing I had forgotten ... kids are busy busy busy and talk talk talk!!! Especially the 6 year old.... Still not sure what I am going to do.. Trevor just got up and he isn't in a big hurry.
Not even afternoon yet, and a flank steak is marinating for london broil tonight, my hair is colored, bedding is washed and drying, another load is spinning away, and I cleaned out one dresser - getting rid of all the old tops that are too tight, too short, or too worn.
My freedom of choice today is a very blah mood. Slept until 9 this morning, with my door shut and the AC on I did not hear a thing. Cole slept in Katie's room so he woke her up around 8 to go out. Her turn this time, not mine. Got up had some tea and folded some clothes that were in the dryer. Fed the dog and cats and checked my emails and caught up on the board. I had plans of doing a Peapod grocery order but Katie said she would go with me. So since we have not been grocery shopping together in a very long time and I need to actually shop and stock up we will be heading out together in about an hour from now. We made pancakes this morning and enjoyed a nice quiet meal just the two of us. It was very nice! I packed up Rob's dead cell phone and will drop that box off at the post office when we go out. We need to package Katie's lap top and send it back to Dell. She lost 2 keys off the keyboard and it is covered under the warantee just the pain of getting it packaged and out. I have to read the directions in a little while and find out if it goes US Post Office, Fed Ex or UPS. I need to get that done today too. We are waiting for Katie's replacement phone to arrrive since her slide has been giving her trouble for weeks.......it was an electronic disater this week. We both made our beds alread and Katie is in the shower, my turn next. We both have huge piles of laundry that need to be put away and my ironing pile is high again. I need to figure out when and if I feel like doing that today as well. My sister is off and she let her kids stay home from camp so there went the afternoon idea of laying pool side and enjoying it quietly. Katie and I might head over after our grocery trip if the sun stays out. We shall see. Rob and Stacey headed to Six Flags in NJ this morning with a crowd of friends so they won't be back too early today. Hope the weather holds for them. Billy and Christine are still in Florida and not due back until Sunday. I hear they have been hit with lots of extra rain this week, not fun. I am sure Cole misses him and I will be glad to have my evening back when Billy' returns, lol. Well everyone have a wonderful Friday and I will check back with you all later tonight!
Good morning. Sitting here replanning
