HAPPY 23rd ANNIVERSARY! Glad last night was such a nice evening for you both. Conversation is usually scarce between DH and I, so it was nice to see that as a couple, you can still converse through a whole dinner. LOL!
Hmmm...catch up...have no idea. It is one of those things like needing a vacation after a vacation. Hope catch up goes quicker than you anticipate.
Good Sunday morning! I don't know where to start except to say what a great start up post NANCY! Your day of doing exactly what you wanted to do really renewed you and shared it with us.
I think of Sunday as the beginning of the week...is it because of the calendar? I think it has to do with going to Church and starting the week off right. Of course, the workweek starts on Monday and usually "diets". However, I will be making good choices today even if I skip my exercise on my "day of rest".
Yesterday sounded awesome Nancy! I do believe the church made some serious profit. It must have been neat to see all that old farm equipment. My DH grew up on a farm and he would have appreciated seeing that. Enjoy your day today no matter what you decide to do.
I am trying really hard to let go of the bad experience I had yesterday with subbing Zumba. This gym was not receptive to me and a lot of the people left the class. It is a hard thing to experience. I did the same class I did 5 other times and no one left and I was complimented on doing a good job. So..this really took me off guard. I will not go back to that gym and I told them to get someone else to sub next week since things did not go well. Kind of hurts when it is with something you love to do!
Moving on...yesterday younger DD came over with the babies and we had such a nice visit. I got to feed the baby and DH did the second bottle. She is becoming so alert and her "big" brother kept saying "hi baby" as she slept in the stroller. A 15 month old does not know how to be gentle when kissing and hugging...so cute! Sure helped put things in perspective when I think I am such a lucky mom and grandma. (the heck with that class not doing well...not important in the grand scheme of things.)
I think older DD is coming over with the girls. The girls spent their first part day with their Dad in the Bronx...it wasn't long before older girl called mommy crying that she wanted to come home. Her other grandma went over and bailed the rat out because they really love their "Nana". He had them home by 6...DD did not get much time to herself. He wanted to know why he had to have "supplies" at his place for the girls...DD should pack them before each visit. What a Dad!! NOT!! He WILL have to have diapers, portable crib, food they like on hand, toys, etc, or those visits are going to be miserable.
So that is it for me today. DH and DS are fishing and DIL is on the way back with granddaughers from visiting the other grandparents in Pa.
Have a good one..make it special and do for you! I already enjoyed Kashi waffles with real maple syrup and egg whites and turkey bacon. Just what I wanted!
Lately I'm not sure whether I'm coming, going, or lost somewhere in between. There really never seems to be a down day anymore.
Anyway, yesterday was spent not getting my dress to the alteration place. It is indeed closed for vacation until next Saturday. Hopefully there won't be a problem since the alterations are not huge ones. The day was also spent at the vet. Until this morning we weren't sure what was wrong with Mr. Otto. He's been peeing in the house and when I cleaned it up I didn't like the color of it. They saw him and of course without a urine sample they couldn't make a positive diagnosis other than what I had told the vet and the fact that he has a couple of swollen lymph nodes. Mr. Otto was very cooperative as we left the vet with a container in hand and at the first sight of a tree gave the vet what she needed. They called today and left a message that he was a urinary infection and he'll continue on the antibotics and we'll have to give them another sample in 3 weeks time...which is of course the week of the wedding. Hopefully this is the only problem since they mentioned stones and xrays and blood work. But he is a good boy and is taking his medication without a problem.
DH and DD headed out to the church where she's getting married to meet with the music person. Yes, he finally called her back after countless messages. I suggested that she take DH with her since he's never seen the church and picking out wedding music didn't seem to be the BF's thing and I had other things I needed to do this morning She did say he has an amazing voice and has all her music picked out. She wants to incorporate all the music into her program but unfortunately didn't write it down and now she can't remember what she's processing into. I've done as much research as I can online but the only thing she can remember is that it's a long Latin name with a "V" in it-very unhelpful!!! So now she has another message into him.
I did my grocery shopping and then went and got a pedicure. I was going to wait until Friday since the shower is Saturday but I just wanted somewhere to go where I could go and not have to think about anything so I decided soaking my tootsies and have them paint my toes a lovely Raspberry color might be a good idea. I'll go back later in the week to have a manicure. I then ran to Crate & Barrel to pick up something for the shower. Now I'm home and trying to decide what to do with my afternoon. There's a million and one things to do and I don't feel like doing them but can't seem to settle myself down to have a don't do anything kind of afternoon. For right now I think I'm going to settle myself down with my cup of coffee and find a magazine to read and I may finally get to sit in my chair outside. I have yet to be able to do that this summer and it is a beautiful day here on LI! I can't seem to concentrate on the book I have out of the library. I think it's going to get returned unread.
Karen-Happy Anniversary! Your evening last night sounded very nice.
Li-Deb-so when's the FOF pool party and I will be expecting Sangria!
Grace-your ex-il is indeed a rat. He has visitation with his girls but doesn't think he should have things there for them? How welcoming for his daughters. He is indeed...just fill in the blanks.
Nancy-sounds like your auction went extremely well!
I think I'm going to head outside. Hope you're all enjoying a super Sunday!
