Good Morning,

Warm and humid here on LI this morning and the sun not quite decided what it wants to do.

DD went for her dress fitting yesterday. She tried it on with her veil and she looked so beautiful not that I'm prejudiced at all :)! Fits her so beautifully and just a few more things to do. She has a French Bustle and the seamstress will color code all the ribbons so it can be buttoned and tied up for the reception.

After the dress fitting I went to Ikea on the hunt for a floor lamp for the upstairs room. I found a cute nickel lamp with a very thin pole and a basket weave oval shade in brown. I also found some nice frames so I can hang some pictures. I came home and searched through some pictures and found some really nice prints that DD had taken of various types of trees and put them in a 5 opening frame and another one she had taken in the fall of a white birch tree that has taken in the fall. The trees were just changing color so there is just a hint of orange in the trees. I double matted that one with ivory and brown and I think that will look really nice on the orange wall. DD had also bought me a fun clock. It's brown sort of a starburst kind of shape in brown with orange handles that I'll hang over my desk. Then I'm going to paint a shelf I have and hang that over the TV with a few of my favorite photos and I think the room will finally be complete and at long last I think I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Dinner was very nice last night. It was on the water and it actually got a bit cool as the sun set. I had a crab cake for an appetizer that was so good and lobster ravioli with roasted tomatoes in a sherry tarragon sauce. And of course there had to be dessert. Several of us shared a molten lava chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and fresh whipped cream. I hadn't eaten since breakfast so no doggie bags for me!

Today is grocery shopping day and then DD and I are going to head over to Costco. She's doing a candy bar for a favor for a wedding. Each guest will get a little box with a little thank you for coming card she composed and each guest will help themselves to their favorite candies. I thought it was a cute idea and something that everyone will enjoy rather than bringing home something that you don't quite know what to do with. At other DD's suggestion she's putting little cards on the table asking people to share their photos at the site she set up on Shutterfly. That way she'll not only have her professional photographer but maybe some other photos that will be nice to remember the day. Hopefully all her shower stuff will be removed from the living room and I can finally start getting the rest of my house back in order. It's in serious need of TLC. Next weekend is a gathering at our niece's house for her son and my SIL's birthday so next Saturday is already booked and then it brings us to the week of the wedding. OH MY!

I guess I'd better get a move on so I can try to accomplish a few things today. I still have my poor checkbook in a mess and really need to tackle that today along with the mess of laundry in and on top of the dryer and in the laundry basket.

Hope you're all doing well and enjoy a wonderful Sunday!

Can't wait to see pictures of your DD in her beautiful bride ensemble, sounds gorgeous!

I have had a slice of toast today and it's 330pm, didn't want to much on junk so I thought I'd save myself for dinner, yours last night sounds delicious!

Happy Sunday -

Cleaned some more, did more laundry, more puttering and de-cluttering one little spot in the back bedroom.

Went out for lunch with some friends who are in town and spent the afternoon talking - it was wonderful to see them.

Dishes are done, lunch for tomorrow is ready, Harry Potter is on TV, and I am going to pour myself a glass of wine and have some hummus with toasted pita strips for a bit of late supper.

Patty, I hope your rain and wet lets up soon and that you get some decent summer but not too hot for the chickens.
