Good Morning,

Your sunflowers and the thought of Friday does bring a smile to my face but my poor Otto is in the doggie hospital. DS and I ended up bringing him to the emergency vet center about 9PM last night. They're not sure at this point what the problem is. It could be just a case of gastroentinitis (sp) but other things like pancreatitis or a blockage were also mentioned. We had no idea what was wrong with him. He was fine at lunchtime and when DS left the house about 2:30 he was running through the house just fine. By the time I arrived home just after 5 I knew that there was something wrong. He didn't eat and even refused a treat. When he went outside it seemed like he didn't know how to get down the stairs. He couldn't get up once he was down and stayed laying on his belly and once he got up he wasn't very steady on his feet. DS and I both thought he might have had a stroke. We also noticed that he had been trying to chew through the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. They did several xrays and it didn't show up anything to determine exactly what's wrong other than the stomach is full which is shouldn't be which is causing him distress and the fact that his spleen isn't positioned correctly. That sent up an alarm with DS since he had a friend who had a dog that had that problem and the dog died shortly after that. We could have taken him home but they were concerned that he might start vomiting so we opted to have him stay overnight and give him IV fluids since he was a bit dehydrated. They're going to an ultrasound on him and try to get a better picture of whether he ingested something or exactly what is bothering him. The price tag of this is probably equivalent to a human going to the ER without medical insurance. Hopefully this is something simple. I'll know later this morning exactly what the situation is.

We didn't get home until after midnight and we are both exhausted. I have a day of work ahead of me and trying to get things under control on my desk before I leave for a week off. My stomach is a mess. I think I'm going to have to call the doctor. I'm not sure this new medication although working well doesn't seem to be agreeing with me. And, of course I'm back on the Actenol so not sure which medication is the guilty party. I've just got to figure it out before the wedding.

My mind is in a whirl, my house in a mess, my desk at work in turmoil and Otto in the doggie hospital and my CRS is in overdrive so I apologize that I can't remember what anyone said in their posts. But I do wish you all a fabulous, fantastic Friday!

Good Morning Everyone,

I have been a bad bad girl lately in the eating department and I'm feeling yucky about it.

TGIF, she says in a tired, whimpy, whiney voice - then slinks quietly into her corner shivering, hoping the storm will eventually pass.

Just another very long day today.
