Although we had several later in the evening phone calls which had me running for the phone we know that Otto is still stable. The vet did say he would call me today with an update but of course I don't know when. DS went over all the phone numbers-work, home and cell so that they can call us. I was wide awake at 5:15 and hoping that the fact that there was a rupture doesn't mean anything. I didn't think of it yesterday and of course you think of all kinds of things when lying wide awake early in the morning.
DD kept me busy last night with wedding projects. We tied ribbons on 189 favor boxes, put labels on water bottles, filled hotel boxes, punched holes in little cards that were then tied on to the hotel boxes. I know she appreciated the help and it kept me busy and my mind occupied.
I have to pick up my dress from the tailor today, I have dry cleaning to pick up, gift cards to buy for my SIL and our nephew before heading over to our niece's house for a birthday party for the both of them. I also need to cancel Otto's boarding that we had reserved for Thursday and Friday. DS is picking up the payment of this huge vet bill and I want to make sure that he doesn't lose any amount of his deposit for the boarding. A call to the billing department on this vet bill is also in order. To say that I don't understand it is an understatement. Everything is an estimate and there was still a balance from the emergency visit and figures of money left just don't add up and I really don't get what the balance is at this point. The house is a huge turmoil with everything for the wedding pretty much spread everywhere. DD will be getting the boxes to the hotel and the favors to the reception site and the other things to the church during the course of the week but until then....there's a whole lot of cleaning to do. I'm almost sorry that I didn't have someone come in and clean so I wouldn't have to think about it. I do wish I could have the week off after the wedding to get my act together and recuperate! You think the newlyweds would notice if I stuffed myself into their suitcase which will be headed to the Bahamas?
I also spoke to the doctor's office about my medication issue. They did advise to go off the new medication go back on the old and then see if that medication is the issue. The old medication doesn't seem to be as effective but I'm hoping that being off of it will let me see whether that's the issue or the Actenol is the problem. Either way I hope that this is resolved before Friday.
Work was a madhouse yesterday. The other coworker called in sick, her boss was throwing work at the other girl in the office. It's amazing how it doesn't work the opposite way. Then of course I had to take extra time at lunch time but my coworker and I really back each other up so I always know I can depend on her. Then I had a zillion personal calls to make and forms to fax for the Otto situation plus my usual pile of work. I left everything in a mess and I don't even want to think about what awaits when I return.
Margie, I hope the rest of your painting project goes well. I've never minded painting although this last project I think just about killed me! I am going to write down that type of paint. My next project is the bedroom. I found a really nice comforter set in Penneys on sale and my color selection will be on that comforter. I'm thinking a blue/gray color.
Margo-I'm worried about you as well. The stress of your job and worries for your son are a lot to deal with. I do hope that you can find some time to recharge and take care of yourself.
I guess I'd better get this day rockin' and rollin'. I'll keep you updated with any otto news.
Margie your comment about completeing the project yourself hits home more then you know. Many years ago when I stilled in Florida I tackled a project myself and wow what a feeling when it was done. Bill had been transfered back up to NY and I was left holding down the fort you could say with Billy (4yrs old) and Rob (3 months) and our german shepard. After the boys were bedded down I decided to tear down the wall paper in our master bathroom. Had a friends husband come take down the huge mirror for me and I got started. I did a little bit each night. After the wall paper was stripped off I washed all the walls and cleaned the cealing. The old owner had put up a drop cealing so I cleaned all the panels then primed the walls. After that picked our a soft beige color and painted. After the paint dried I purchased some boarder and laid that up. It took about 3 weeks to complete but when Bill came home for a visit what a surprise. I bought peach curtains and a peach fabric shower curtain to match, with new rugs and towels. It was the first and only time I did such a project alone and I was very pleased with myself. So I understand your reasoning........you go girl. Since then anything I want to do is shadowed by Bill's thoughts and either we don't do it or he takes over completely. Like the kitched project everytime "we" went to do something I became the woman fixing the guys lunch, never holding or ripping anything apart. When we were painting I wanted to help cut in or roll and he just would not let me. It hurt my feelings big time which lead to a very big arguement at some point. He passed a comment about how he did the kitchen and and how I always seemed to disappear when he was working on it........well now he knows why. I want to paint Katie's room so bad but every time I mention it he says not yet. We still have Billy's old room empty down here and it needs fresh paint, new bifold doors hung and a new carpet before Rob can move it. I really don't think its that big of a project but now he won't do anything of that sort until the fall again because of the heat and racing season. Sell life in Debbie land aint peaches and cream, lol. His thought process is after we do Robs room and move him down then Katie can temporarily stay in Rob's old room while we paint and recarpet her room. It makes sense it does but Bill would rather do a complete makeover then just paint it. I
Susan I hope today brings you good news about Otto. I know you have alot on your plate today and the rest of the week but once you have more info let us know. Listen I am off from my job on Thursday I can take a ride over with my bucket and mop and give you a big hand all day if you want me to. Just say the word, I have no problem helping out. When you bring Otto home what will you do with him during the wedding? Do you need someone to doggie sit him or check on him in the early evening? Can I help? I hope today goes smoothly for you and you get everything done on your list.
I slept in later then I wanted to this morning and ran a little behind. I managed to make my bed, enjoy a cup of tea, iron a few articles of clothing, did my 25 minutes of Slim in 6 and grabbed a shower all before 11:15 thinking the dog trainer will be here at 11:30. Got done, and sat outside and waited for both her and my son with the dog............11:45 no one here yet??? Check my cell phone and Billy sent me a text that they canceled...argh! So I cleaned out the frig and put together a list of groceries which I will do a Peapod order for later today. Right now I am going to drop Katie off at the barn then return home to get my bathing suit and head over to my sisters house. Told Bill I was taking a few hours pool side since we had sun and I need some color before this reunion in 3 weeks. I bought a red dress for the reunion and I could really stand to drop a few pounds to be more comfortable in it but my sister and Katie and Stacey said it looked nice. I figure many of the ladies at the reunion will be wearing black and I decided to step out of the box, lol. Better run, Katie has started my truck and it waiting for me right now............teenagers! Bill and Rob went to the credit union to find out about a car/truck loan for Robbie. He sold his Explorer and has about $7,000 in the bank, he wants to take a loan out for $10,000 and he has his eye on this 2004 F150 truck for $1,600, Bill will cosign if they will give Rob the loan. I have mixed feelings about it but Bill thinks its a good idea to continue with the responisbility of growing up. I will let you know how that turns out later. Better run and drop off Katie and get some sun while I can.
Good Morning...
I've been up since 3 am.
