Wedding Details & Otto Update

The party is over and what a wedding & party it was.

The day dawned as the picture perfect summer day. After all the horrible weather we've had the day turned out with just right temperature, no humdity and beautiful blue skies. My daughter looked so beautiful, the girls so pretty in their dresses, the flower girl although going through a bit of a meltdown did manage to get down the aisle and she looked so cute in her adorable white dress. My boys, DH, DS, the ring bearer and my escort down the aisle all looked so very handsome.

The girls doing our hair & makeup arrived around 7:30 and I sent DS on his way to pick up bagels and coffee and our breakfast & lunch food order. The girls started arriving about 8 and hair and makeup began. The photographer arrived about 12:30, the limo about 2:15 and we were all set for our ride to the church. We actually arrived about 15 minutes late but the priest marrying them was delayed and the ceremony started a little late. A wonderful ceremony. I did see you Deb! Thanks for coming!

We arrived at the reception site and they had a beautiful display of photos of the grandparents with the memorial candle as well as pictures of the parents and the newly married couple set up in a bookcase right before you entered the atrium for the cocktail hour. The food was wonderful, service was unbelievable and the attention to detail was outstanding.

I'm not usually much of a dancer and neither is DH but we sure were Friday night. I have pictures posted on Facebook which I was doing when once again I couldn't sleep at 2AM!

The hotel I can't give rave reviews to. Everyone was complaining about how warm the rooms were but the breakfast buffet the next morning was good.

Very few snafus-just the late to the church priest, the DJ played the wrong song for the mom/son dance and apparently a few other things that the SIL wasn't too happy about. Shoes that were killing me before the evening even started but fortunately DD had provided us all with flips flops so we could dance the night away. Unfortunately my sister from CT wasn't there. I'm not sure what went wrong but she refused to get into the car with her oldest son who was supposed to be bringing her down. His behavior and attitude is another story and we'll just say he just didn't bother to come.

Everyone seemed to have a really good time and of course the day flew by.

Otto is home although while being walked at the facility we did something to injure his right rear pad on his paw. So he's all bandaged up with this thing that looks like a mini cast. I also got a phone call the morning of the wedding indicating that his white blood count was high and he had diarrea (sp). They were going to do yet another sonogram and blood work to rule things out and figure things out. Of course I got the test results just as we were getting into the limo. I was a mess and of course didn't want to upset DD. I managed to get a call in before the cocktail hour started and they were going to do a urinalysis and see if that was the problem. Apparently what ever was wrong seems to have returned to normal and we were able to pick him up late yesterday afternoon. Now the problem exists that he won't take his medication. We've tried turkey, peanut butter, cheese all his favorites but he's smelling them and just refusing to eat them. He's not at all himself and he's not eating and of course dragging this wounded leg around. We have to bring him back tomorrow night and have the leg rebandaged and since it's another procedure we'll have to leave him overnight.

Susan so glad to hear from you, we all were on pins and needles waiting to hear from you. You did have a beautiful day and the ceramony was wonderful. You looked beatiful, the girls looked awsome and your daughter breath taking. I am glad I took a ride over. My cousin got married in that church several years ago. You have no idea how close you were to both Grace and myself. I am so glad the weather cooperated and that everyone enjoyed themselves. I need to jump over to facebook and check out the pictures. I am so happy you all had a great time.

Sorry to hear about Otto's trouble. Maybe once he gets comfortable in his own place he will feel better. I found giving the dog and cat medicine was difficult and often would have to just give it to them orally with the help of the kids. Good luck on that.

The pictures on Facebook are great! You looked happy and great in that dress. DD certainly was a beautiful bride the rest of the family looked darn good too. I am glad things went well and you know it did when it goes by in a blur. Flowerfields does a great job with catering the food and to your needs.

Would have loved to have been at the church but things fell apart around here. Granddaughters came home early afternoon and DD had to pick them up at a park...not going there! Anyway...my planned day came to a screeching halt.

So sorry to hear about Otto. Poor thing is going through so much and now his leg. I hope he starts eating then you will know he is on the way to good health.

Try to rest up some today before the work week begins.

Grace

Keep on keeping on!

Susan, between the pics on FB and your description ... I'd say it was a perfect wedding.

I should have read this this thread first to find out about Otto... He sounds like an unhappy dog... Hopefully once he is home and in his comfortable enviroment, he can heal... I wish he didn't have to spend the night again.. :(
