Good Morning,

A very pretty picture to start the day Miss P! Much nicer looking in the picture than the weather outside the door this morning. It's rainy and humid and looks like we'll be having some weather from "Danny" over the weekend.

I snuck out of the house again last night and took a 2 mile walk. I don't know whether it's my sneakers being a bit on the worn out side or whether just a lot of walking the past few days but my itises were acting up last night. Too much of one thing-not good for me.

Ahhhhh.....it's Friday! I'll be saying a bigger ahhhhh....when the workday reaches 5PM. I've been doing a lot of data entry over the past few days and it's boring and tedious and makes the day really drag. It has be caught up with since it's the end of the month once again and I'm the one who does it so you gotta do what you gotta do to bring home the paycheck!

Nothing much else going on around here. I'm sure it will be another wild and crazy Friday around here with my pjs on by 7:30. Such excitement.

Hope everyone is doing well and TGIF!

Susan

School starts Sept 8th... They wait until after Labor Day now... partly due to the State Fair going on... It definately is a cool evening here.. we may have a fire tonight too.. Could you post a picture of your gas one... it might be nice having a gas option rather than wood all the time... Wish I could help you with appetizers.. I usually go with the standard ones.. . pickle roll ups.. nachos/salsa/dips and chips... We did have chili for card club once... That went over well.. I am planning on making a batch of taht soon.. I like it with cheez-it crackers.. cheddar cheese/sour cream .. okay I am hungry.. good thing lunch is soon..

I need to say good afternoon now, never did get over here this morning. Busy morning at my house with having the dog sleep over. Last night electrician was over doing the wiring to ground the pool and complaining because pool guy back filled the pool making it more difficult for him...why couldn't he wait one more day?? Who knows then he got hubby going....argh! Rob's theory was since we have this storm/hurricane coming up the coast he probley wanted to make sure it was filled in with dirt because of the rain involved, sounded good to me, lol. What do I know, except right now all the men in my life are driving me crazy and they are just darn lucky that hole is filled in. We had rain last night and it was raining this morning, seems to have stopped for the minute but they are forecasting more for tonight and into the weekend. We have my nephews birthday/pool party at my sisters house tomorrow and if it were me I would cancel. I am waiting to hear what she decides to do. Plus our temps outside dropped into the high 60's/low 70's. Not swimming material for me. Sunday Katie is supposed to have her last horse show and that is a makeup date so not sure what is going to happen with that either. My entire weekend is up in the air! I guess if everyone cancels then I will have to be content with cleaning the house, reading my book, doing some laundry and taking some naps, lol. I had to run and pick up Katie at 12:30 which is not my lunch hour so now I am sitting quietly at the office. I should be working which I will get back to in a minute but I am enjoying the quiet for a change. Boss is taking a nap in the other room, phones are quiet and the other sect left for a bite to eat. That is really about it for now. So what does everyone think of my pool pictures??? Next summer my house! I am so pleased to see it, I just stop and stare out the back window, I had really lost hope of never having a pool again, so this is just wonderful. Jenny Craig is going well too, I cheated this morning and had 3 dunkin munchkins that a client brought in but no more! I hope you all have a wonderful day. Nancy you should have asked Karen about appitizers she is the queen of that. I do have a recipe for a easy and yummy hot taco dip.

2 bars of philly cream cheese spread in a glass pie dish, 1 can of Hormel Chilli (no beans) spread ontop of the cream cheese, 2 cups of shredded mexican cheese. Cover with plastic wrap and heat in microwave until cheese is melted. Serve with sour cream and taco chips. I usually make two because they gobble them up!

Ham Appetillas Recipe

2 pkgs (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tbs chopped green onions
1/4 cup chopped black olives
8 (8 1/2") flour tortillas
3 pkgs (2 1/2 oz) thinly sliced ham

Combine first four ingredients; spread evenly on tortillas. Arrange 4 ham slices over each tortilla; roll up tightly and wrap each individually in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 3 hours. Cut tortillas into 1/2" slices. Yield about 8 dozen.

Nancy, this is a tried and true hit.
