Nice day although it's looking a little cloudy at the moment and at yesterday's gathering it was quite chilly and I was glad I had thrown a sweatshirt into the car.
We had a good time last night. It was a group of people that DH knew from his years in the motorcycle business. The couple that invited us we've kept in touch with over the the years. Both our girls babysat for their DD when she was young. She's now a beautiful young lady at 15. I met someone who DH actually hasn't seen since he left the motorcycle business back in 1978. Interesting guy with stories that will just make you laugh until you can't laugh anymore. Food and company were good.
I've been up since just before 7 and Betty Crocker was here rustling around in the kitchen. DD and SIL are coming for dinner so I have a pasta salad and a mozzarella/tomato/basil salad in the refrigerator. There will be flank steak marinated and put on the bbq along with some chicken kebobs and I'll make some stovetop beans to round out dinner. I'm going to try an apple cake in the crockpot and see how that comes out for dessert along with some fresh fruit that I'm going to cut up. I made some yummy homemade pancakes with bacon for breakfast.
I'm finishing up my morning cup of coffee and then I must continue with some laboring. I have some laundry piles to attack and I really need to get the house tidy. For whatever reason the cleaning fairy hasn't landed here and I guess I'll have to tackle the job. As Donna said the dust isn't going anywhere without me and there sure is a lot of it!
Looking forward to the fall season. I've seen soup recipes I want to try and ready for a different style of cooking. Goes right along with my love of the change of the seasons. Each season brings something different.
Donna-enjoy the rest of the time with the kidlets!
Good morning... almost afternoon... Been puttering around the house and thinking about doing a load of laundry.. Think if I think long enough someone else will do it??? Went for a walk and I think we are heading down to the inlaws farm this afternoon.
He got into the motorcycle business shortly after his 4 years in the Air Force. So we're talking the early 70's. He was in the parts end of a Harley dealership and then went on to work for a small business that dealt more with custom and/or specialty Harley parts and accessories. The business went out about the same time that we decided to try to have a family and he knew that he needed a job with less hours and days and something that had better medical benefits and that's went he went back into the automotive end of parts.
I'll be happy to post the mozzarella/tomato recipe. Super delicious with fresh from the garden tomatoes and basil and fresh mozzarella.
Good morning, everyone!
No laboring here to speak of.

Good morning.

Noontime already - DS had a nice 3-egg omlette of steak, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese for breakfast, but I didn't bother with anything for myself.
