Tuesday Check In Time

Tue, 09-08-2009 - 5:17pm

It seems a little late for Tuesday morning, so I thought it may be time for an end of the day check in.

How did your "First day back to reality" go??

First day back at reality just sort of slaps you in the face and says here I am. I am just so happy when I come home and the phone rings and I don't have to answer it! It was a busy day but still seemed to drag. And of course, there's always the confusion of what day is it?

Otto and I got out for our walk. He was very energetic this evening and was very excited to see his buddy Cody and of course the treat bag that usually follows from Cody's owner!

I actually pulled out my EA Sports Fitness this evening and did 30 minutes of that. I know the squats and lunges and calf raises will be a reminder tomorrow morning of how much I haven't exercised!

My bills are paid and now I'm on to the job of emptying my basket full of paper nonsense. I still haven't sat to read my book but I hope to get to that before too long. I'm reading a James Patterson book and his books are always quick reads for me. I'd love to hear what everybody is reading...always looking for a good book!

That's about it from me. I'd better get to my paper pile so I can actually sit and read.

Hope you're all enjoying a good evening!

If I believed we just needed to give up and accept how we are I would be getting close to 200 pounds and I refuse to go there. I just won't! My last years with my grandmother she was big and I am made just like her and although I loved her lots I won't allow myself to be that out of shape. The key is to not give up and let it win. We may be challenged by what we can do from year to year or even day to day but giving up is not an option because once we do..........it wins!

Tuesday was a busy day at my house. Coming off a three day weekend makes it difficult alone. Bill is still slow going with his back but the meds are helping and he is wearing his back brace. Billy had a touch of a stomach bug and we throwing up at home before getting to the shop late. Cole was exhausted from spending most of his Monday at Billy's GF house playing with her family dog. Rob headed off to college for his long day and spent a fortune on books. Katie had a great first day, enjoyed her teachers and seeing her friends. I had a ton of stuff to do at work, my desk had a big pile of files to work on. After work I ran Katie to the barn then I headed over to Huntington Learning and met with the supervisor and discussed Katie. She has completed 60% of the program and her vocab and math are back up to a 10th grade level. Her reading comp still needs work but we have decided to pull her out and will see how the year starts. She is going to be on a temp leave so that keeps the door open should we decide to place her back into the program. She has to prove herself and the first sign of trouble (5 weeks) she will go back into the program if needed. I am hoping she will apply herself and this will work. From there it was back home to make some food for Bill and myself. Then over to the barn to pick Katie up. Busy, busy, busy.

Love reading about your mom! She sounds like an amazing woman.

When my sister and I were talking yesterday she said she remembered a day she was worried and stressed about something. I showed up at her office after work with sweats and
