Interesting day at work-only because both bosses out of the office. One on vacation, the other out with some type of eye infection. Sounded really nasty and icky. In spite of that we all carried on and kept the ship running smoothly.

Came home and donned my Betty Crocker hat and made the Chicken Club Ring and a new version of broccoli. I have to say variation in vegetable making isn't one of my fortes and I'm frankly kind of sick of everything I make. This was a saute with some garlic, pimentos, chicken broth/or sherry, some Italian seasoning and a little salt and pepper with some pine nuts tossed in.

Otto and I headed out for our walk. It was such a beautiful day and a perfect evening for a walk. After coming home I decided to get started on getting the stuff out of the small bedroom. The gifts are neatly stacked , the bedding off a few odd pieces of furniture moved to new temporary locations. I was hoping that DH would offer to disassemble the bed frame but no offers. He thought it would be a good idea to paint around the bed. When I tell you the full size bed pretty much takes up the whole room I'm not exaggerating. Not sure how he thought we were going to do that. He know wants to refinish the floor. Not sure why since the bed takes up most of the room and with an area rug none of the floor is really going to be seen and I just see that as a long drawn out process. I want to get in, paint and get everything back in within a week. Hoping to convince him otherwise on that. I was going to pull some nails out of the wall. I got questioned about that. I'm not sure what pictures I'm going to hang in there and I'd rather start with a fresh slate rather than being dependent on nails already in the wall. He didn't like to see me with a hammer in my hand and said he would do it. If there not out by tomorrow night I'm going in! I'm a woman on a mission!

I've done what I could for the evening and am showered and ready to settle in with my book, the crossword from the paper and a remote control for the TV so I think I'm set for the evening.

Hope your day has been a good one!

Well, it was definely a Monday for me. Work was a bit out of control but it will get better. We have a new director for our department so everyone is a little jumpy. This too shall pass.

Back near the end of last winter, I found a book at Barnes & Nobel called Change One. It's been a good book for me. Basically, it offers a road map to change your eating habits one meal/thing at a time. I've only made it through the first four chapters. I got stuck on the snack thing and kind of gave up. But I managed to lose 16 pounds and I'm mostly keeping it off other than the monthly gain I always get. It's given me some hope and I highly recommend it.

Exercise has been hit or miss for me. I've been on hiatus from dancing since January and I only went back a couple months ago to see how it would go. The doc wanted me out for a year.

hahahahahahaha

No.

The foot is doing well most of the time and when it hurts, I sit down. I'm only dancing two nights a week for about 2 hours a shot at rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The rest of the week, I head to the homestead after work for R&R, gardening and dog teasing. I've been hoping all summer to maybe get back into walking with DH, but it hasn't happened. I'm afraid I'll get a mile from home and my foot will start in and I'll have a mile to limp on a lame foot. Not an enticing thought. I considered getting a treadmill but a) no place to put it and b) there's a free one at the gym that I already don't use. :) So much for that idea.

I've been toying with the idea of going back to yoga class. I don't know when I'd fit it in though. Too much travel and not enough down time. I have to make that work out somehow. I need it.

Anyway, I'd better get busy and get stuff put away so I can hit the sack. 4:15 am is very, very early here and I'm getting a little tired now. Maybe I'll crochet a bit before bed.

Nite nite ladies. It's so nice to be back with friends!
